Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

We don't really know what this means. Bulma can be overreacting or Bulma can be having an understandable reaction to Yamcha's reaction to other (probably pretty) women. Chichi never had to worry about how Goku reacts to other women and Bulma, likewise, never had to worry about Vegeta's reaction to other women.
True, I guess it is pretty vague - for all we actually know, Yamcha is running around and flirting with other girls. I just have a really hard time imagining this though. It just seems more likely to me that, if anything, he was all bashful and acting coy when other girls flirted with him, and Bulma took it to mean he was running off and cheating.
This is all why I only picked Bulma as my choice when it's between her and Chi Chi - Videl is the best choice all around IMO.
rereboy wrote:So, despite Bulma's flaws, maybe its really the combination of Yamcha and Bulma that doesn't work out, without any single one of them having the exclusive fault.
That's probably what it comes down to in the end, other than the real-world answer of 'Toriyama needed another Saiyan and Yamcha can't help there'.

Well, to be fair, there is a filler scene of Yamcha absolutely drooling over other girls while training. It is filler, but some filler was actually approved by Toriyama, so who knows...
Gotta agree that Chi-Chi ages much more gracefully compared to Bulma, although Buu-Saga Bulma isn't that bad of a looker.
So Chi-Chi probably but I wouldn't be opposed to Bulma.

That's precisely why ordinary men pursue the concept of perfection, it's infatuation. But ultimately I have to ask myself "What is the true meaning of being perfect?" and the answer I came up with was nothing. Not one thing. The truth of the matter is I despise perfection! If something is truly perfect, that's IT! The bottom line becomes there is no room for imagination! No space for intelligence or ability or improvement! Do you understand? To men of science like us, perfection is a dead end, a condition of hopelessness. Always strive to be better than anything that came before you but not perfect! Scientist's agonize over the attempt to achieve perfection! That's the kind of creatures we are! We take joy in trying to exceed our grasp, in trying to reach for something that in the end, we have to admit may in fact be unreachable!"
Chi Chi. Reminds me of my girlfriend now. Cooks for me(I don't ask her too) and yell at me for everything but yet at the same time caring. Plus I love the way Chi Chi dress. Bulma seems more like a girlfriend than a wife. Chi Chi seems more like a wife than a girlfriend.
Bulma...I'll be extremely wealthy...far more so than living with Chi Chi who is much more of a bitch IMO.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!
Spoiler:
Doctor. wrote:I've explained before, I'll just paraphrase myself.
Power levels establish tension and drama. People who care about them (well, people who care about them in a narrative) don't care about the big numbers or the fancy explosions. If you have character A who's so much above character B, who's the main character, you're gonna be left wondering how in the hell character B, the character we're supposed to care and root for, is going to escape the situation or overcome the odds. It makes us emotionally invested.
If character B doesn't escape the situation in a believable way that's consistent with previous events, then that emotional investment is gone. It was pointless tension, pointless drama made just to suck in the viewer. It has no critical value whatsoever. The audience is left believing that the author can just create whatever scenarios he wants and what happens to the characters is decided by whatever the author wants to happen, regardless of the events that happened in the story. Which, in fairness, is what happens, but the audience wants to be fooled. The audience wants to know that the world they're following has rules. That the world they're invested in isn't going to bend to external factors that are irrelevant to them.
An author can do whatever he wants with the characters, that's not false. But the author should also have the responsibility to make sure it fits in cohesively with the other events in the narrative he has created.

This^ Chi Chi's loyalty is beyond comprehension. Husband runs off for a year and some change training in space and frequently abandons the family yet she keeps to the vows, cooks his meals, raises his kids, etc. 7 years dead, looking on point and she's still keeping the faith.
"You might think you know everything there is to know about me, but really, you're not even CLOSE."
"Never give in--never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy." ~ Sir Winston Chruchill / Dragon Ball Z in a nutshell
How I enjoy the anime:
Spoiler:
I like to switch between the dub and the original. If I want to watch the original I'll watch it subbed on my Dragon Boxes.
If I want to watch it dubbed I'll watch the funimation singles and my dragon boxes for the other episodes in proper aspect ratio. Aside from the Vegeta arc I cannot stand the dub with the Japanese music, as it just does not mesh with the dub script and acting.
Don't get me wrong I'm a fan of the Kikuchi score and think it works perfectly with the Japanese cast...but the American audio in Z and Kai just sounds awful with it.
Kai is the only version of the dub I cannot watch whether it be Yamamoto's score or Kikuchii's ad hoc replacement. Until this forum I had not encountered a single person who preferred Kai to Z in terms of dub.

So Chi-Chi probably but I wouldn't be opposed to Bulma.
When has chi chi EVER been better looking than bulma, at any point? Bulma's looks only go south at the very end after the 10 year gap at which point chichi's have too.

Chi Chi IMO always dressed better and was more "Sexy" than Bulma.
Bear in mind that Chi Chi is a mother for the ENTIRE stretch of DBZ, whereas Bulma only goes maternal about halfway through. That changes perceptions a bit.

But but but, chi chi shows less skin than a nun in z, relating her "sexiness" with how she dresses is like saying you dont like the female form. Bulma also doesnt dress slutty in the z era but shows a bit of skin.

So...apparently because Chi Chi shows less skin I can't think she's attractive? Dude it's my opinion. Saying "I don't like female form" is plain wrong. I just like the way she dresses. It's just skin if you to look at it just look at yourself. You have skin as well. Chi Chi is beautiful. More so than Bulma IMO. Seriously. It's just skin.

She undeniably looked better than Bulma during the 23rd Budokai and the beginning of Z. She also looked better during that barbecue.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

I'm just about done with the concept of reboots and making shows that were products of their time and impactful "new and sexy" and in line with modern tastes and sensibilities. Let stuff stay in their era and give today's kids their own shit to watch.
I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

Haha I didnt mean it to be offensive. How you dress doesnt change how you truly look but is big on how you present your looks. The way chi chi dresses just doesnt help with that presentation.

Yes....yes it does. Chi Chi present herself like a WIFE. As I said earlier Bulma is more of a girlfriend than a wife. Chi Chi is better looking but present herself like a wife(Of course I'm not married but from what I see from my family and others Chi Chi is a wife)
Tough call. I find both to be attractive and unattractive during a few phases of the series such as the Buu saga and in terms of personalities they both have their faults.
They both have tempers but ChiChi without a doubt has the bigger one and it easily comes out when it comes to her kid's studies.
They both actually have money. Bulma through Capsule Corp and ChiChi through her father.
At the end of the day, id have to say Bulma, for my kid's future if anything. When your mom is the heir to the biggest and most successful company in the world, that opens a lot of doors in the future. Can provide a excellent education and enough wealth to be provided for at nearly all times.
I find ChiChi to be better as a wife and mother, but Bulma has a huge and guaranteed financial stability.

More like a cultural or class difference, chi chi dresses like an early 20th centuary eastern wife while how bulma dresses is just western or modern eastern which fits both their personalities. As far as wife material personalities I would still take bulma she seems like a good wife and mother by the buu saga while chi chi is a caricature of a housewife.

Heres a little advice, if a woman is truly pretty, shell look good no matter what she wears.
