Favorite/Hated characters in DB/Z/GT
Which character or characters are your guys' favorite? Which do you not like?
I personally hate Mr. Satan because he takes credit of the Z-fighters' hard work.

All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

I just find her pointless. A complete waste of time, not a character.
I was going to list Future Trunks as well, but half of me doesn't think it's fair, since almost all of that would come from his abysmal introduction... and general concept I guess.

SSJ3 Goku bad ass as hell.
Pure Boo: Very Insane character!
My Hated DB Z Characters:
Mr. Satan: Is not that I hate him but many times it is annoying!

Super Nº 17 looks very bad ass too!
Yi Xing Long is an infernal Dragon worthy being the most powerful enemy of all DB GT!
My Hated GT Characters:
Dorutakki is a dumbass!
Liang Xing Long, Wu Xing Long and Qi Xing Long. Nothing to say about those 3!

Not that I'm necessarily disagreeing or anything, but what makes future Trunks a mary sue?
Re: Favorite/Hated characters in DB/Z/GT
Well I don't hate Vegeta, I hate that in the series Vegeta never got his comeuppance for stupid things he did in the name of "saiyan pride."
Come to think of it I don't hate any character, I just hate aspects about them or how they were used:
Puar has no personality beyond being Yamcha's friend/servant (calling him Master time to time),
I like the idea of Giru, but not how he came to be-I'd rather Bulma just made him to be a sentient Dragon Radar and go from there. And his verbal tics are lame too.
I wish the Kaioshins had more depth, or were more useful, or something.

Re: Favorite/Hated characters in DB/Z/GT
Characters who had full, compelling arcs to me would be Goku, Kuririn, General Blue, Tenshinhan, and Buu. Butta of the Ginyu Force has a cool design, but he's sort of package deal with the overall uninteresting Jheese. Gotenks was a blast and played off of Buu and Piccolo wonderfully. Bulma was pretty cool when she was important.
Gohan and Vegeta are thoroughly uninteresting for the majority of their time onscreen. Vegeta's just an asshole, and doesn't embrace all the fun qualities you can mine with being a villain, like Freeza or Cell. His arrogance is just grating. He's too good to be working with Earthlings on Namek, to be second to Goku, to not be the one take out Cell. It's the least entertaining power trip I can think of. Gohan goes against the entire grain of the series; the fighting; and in theory that's an interesting role, but like Vegeta it all suffers under the series' length; I don't need more scenes of this kid crying about not wanting to fight. The characters in this story fight, and it would stand to reason that anyone who doesn't want to be a part of that group dynamic and get with the program is going to feel like a waste of time.
They both come pretty close to redeeming themselves towards the end, however. Vegeta finds reasons to fight beyond stroking his ego and Gohan, who is supposed to be smart, finally picks up on the idea that fighting to protect the things you love is commendable. It was an entertaining move on Toriyama's part to have these funsuckers trounce their shortcomings in the Buu arc and still fall short of success, defying expectations and keeping the story lively.

In general, the real reason I ever got into the series was because of the villains. The heroes, I can take or leave.

I pretty much like most of the characters in DB/Z, except for Broly.
Regarding DBGT, I would say that I dislike most characters, and the one I dislike the most is Pan.

Re: Favorite/Hated characters in DB/Z/GT
I don't really think there's any characters that I outright 'hate', but just in-so-far as favorites versus disliked characters...
Favorites
Krillin - This one goes without saying I guess, but he really is my favorite character nowadays I think. He always tries his hardest, he's great in both comedic and action settings, but the poor guy does get a bum rap with some fans and I do like to cheer for the underdog, so that all comes into play for why I like him. It also helps that the two 'main' voices for him - Mayumi Tanaka and Sonny Strait - are both excellent.
Master Roshi - Perverted old martial arts master that never learns from his mistakes? What's not to love!
Mr. Satan - I used to hate this guy back when I was younger for pretty much the same reasons that some have listed already. Now though, I find his antics really amusing.
Freeza - I know I'm the odd one out here, but I've always found Freeza to be pretty badass, even back when I was only familiar with the Linda Young version (granted, I came in to his last form, so I avoided MOST of the erm...questionable dialogue, the first time around). Getting to Ryusei Nakao and Chris Ayres portrayals though just re-invogorated my liking for this guy as a villain.
Pan & Oob - I list these two together because my liking for them is mostly from their vast potential as characters, more so than how they've been used so far. I do really like Pan in GT though.
Least Favorites
Vegeta - Like I said at the start, I don't really 'hate' any character that I can think of, but when I think of who I get the least enjoyment out of, it's this guy. All he ever seems to do is power up, boast about how awesome he is, get his ass kicked, and then scowl about how he's gonna turn the tables around. Then you repeat this process. When he's not doing any of that, or when he's feeling particularly over-achieving, he also makes things get so much worse for everyone involved. Yeah, I spend much of my time wanting to smack Vegeta. That said though, I do enjoy him immensely during the Namek material when he's being all crafty and working with the fact that he's powerful but not all that. I also love any situation that puts him out of his element - IE the worms in Boo's body, meeting his brother's wife, trying to keep Beers entertained, etc.

5. Chiaotzu: Annoying because he seems to be soulless and only really cares for Tien. Like when he, Yamcha and Tien find out they're getting wished back he immediately says "I'm so happy for you Tien". I mean seriously? What about Yamcha and even himself? I can't help but feel he would never have sacrificed himself if Tien hadn't been in danger. I also feel like he never truly atoned for his sins like Tien did and pretty much only turned good because Tien did and would gladly follow him back to the dark side if Tien decided to become evil again.

Re: Favorite/Hated characters in DB/Z/GT
Favorites:
Muten Roshi: Despite his extremely perverse nature, he's actually quite skilled, powerful, and clever, namely during the earlier portions of the series. The entire 21st Tenkaichi Budokai springs to mind here.
Tao Pai Pai: Flies on pillars. Kills a dude with his tongue. Literally runs up Karin Tower. Did the whole "returning villain who was thought to be dead is now a cyborg but gets shafted at the very beginning of the story arc that he shows up as a cyborg in" thing before Freeza did.
Vegeta (Saiyan/Namek arc): Cold, calculating, evil bastard.
Tenshinhan: Did the whole "evil dickhead who becomes a rival, and then becomes good" thing before it became "character arc of the week". Didn't die from the Mafuba. Has some overall pretty cool techniques.
Piccolo: Stoic as fuck. The first truly evil re-occurring character, even if he becomes good. Keeps up with the Saiyans longer than any of the non-Saiyans by assimilating others of his race into his being.
Freeza: Has such a vast influence and reputation that he's even still referenced in BoG. Great villainous personality too.
Gohan (Cell Games): Finally harnesses the power of his rage to save the day. Was always my favorite character to play as in video games. His SSj2 hairstyle is probably my favorite Super Saiyan hairstyle.
Mr. Satan: Despite being a dick and stealing credit for the Cell Games victory, he actually did a lot during the Buu arc to help out. Interesting to see him go from witnessing and denying the nature of the main characters, to slowly realizing the truth of it all, and having his daughter impregnated by the kid whose credit he stole for the Cell Games victory.
Gogeta (Movie 12): Barring the fact that this is probably due to nothing more than the movie being almost over, the fact hat he actually just gets shit done as soon as he shows up is something I really like.
Beerus: I enjoy his design and personality. Oozes cat-like behavior, blows shit up just because he gets mad, etc. His mere presence makes Shenlong terrified. Also, he breakdances.
Least Favorites:
Bulma: Far too bitchy, far too often.
Krillin: His overall stupidity. The amount of times that the day could have been saved by a Taiyoken + Kienzan combo attack is ridiculous.
Vegeta (post Namek arc): Is only kept around to advance the plot through his own stupidity and need to prove that his dick is the biggest.
Broly: Do I really need to provide an explanation here?
Goten: Soulless Goku-clone devoid of any personality. Later becomes a soulless Yamcha-clone devoid of any personality.
Pan (GT): All the nagging of Chichi, added onto a child. Doubly annoying.

I cant really pick a favorite.
The one I hate the most?
Mr. Satan. Purposely cocky and stupid or not, I cannot stand this guy. Theres not a single time I enjoy this guy on the screen except when hes getting his butt handed to him.

Re: Favorite/Hated characters in DB/Z/GT
I have a hard time picking a favorite since I like a lot, but I always had a soft spot for Piccolo. I feel like Piccolo needed to have a bigger role after the Cell saga since he did nothing special in the Buu saga other then teaching the fusion to Goten and Trunks. He was turn into a plot device in GT seeing that his death in GT happen so that he can help Goku in the next saga. There was no reason to kill him off.
My least favorites:
GT Pan - Annoying and she could have been a support character after the Bebi saga.
King Cold - He did nothing and was killed off too easy. AT could have made him into a bigger threat then Freeza since he is the father of the most evil being in the galaxy. Maybe had Goku and Trunks team up to beat Cold in his powerful form.
Super 17 - I love his design, but his character was pointless. He was just a stronger version of #17 and he didn't last very long. He didn't feel very evil to being with and he would most likely continued his life as normal #17 if he did kill Goku. His character felt like if the writers ran out of ideas to make a new villain.
Broli - I know most people already list him down, but I feel like he was a character that sound good on paper and was poorly executed. I feel like he was a cool character until we found out why he hates Goku. The idea of a baby crying making him crazy was stupid and there was better ways to him make more crazier without going too dark. Also Toei milk him way too much in 1994 and he should have stay dead after the first movie. Also he was another muscular character which was really getting old at this point.
Super 13 - I never see what was so cool about him since he was so boring and generic.
The Para Brothers - Probably the most annoying characters ever. I feel like early GT had too many comic relief characters, but these guys were really pushing it.
Super Yi Xing Long - Yi Xing Long came out of nowhere and had zero build up. He is our final villain in the franchise and Toei totally wasted him. AT would have give him a better build up since I always like the build up that Buu had. He was pretty one-dimensional and very generic. He really lacks a motivation since he had no real to destroy the universe other then he was evil. He's pretty much a villain that you would see in a 60's Hanna-Barbera cartoon series.
Lord Slug - Rehash of Piccolo Daimao and Piccolo during the 23rd Tenkachi Budokai. His character was forgettable and lame.
Metal Coola - While he looks cool, he was just a rehash of Mecha Freeza. They both got their ass kick by Goku then both got reconstructed with robotic parts. I feel like they should have give us another new villain then bringing back Coola again a year later.
That's it for now.

I'm surprise no one mention Garlic Jr yet
? He always been the least popular villain with most fans and I always kinda like him. He was the first villain to become immortal and give Gohan a try on beating a villain for the first time.
