Well Artdink did mention they were starting from scratch so maybe that's why the character models look weird, and in my opinion I don't quite like the graphics either but that's not a reason to hate the game if you haven't played it yet...

Actually, since you don't need to play the game to experience the graphics like you would the control scheme combat depth, not liking the art direction is probably the most valid reason to currently dislike the game without having previously played it.

Opinion.

I've gotta say that Ultimate Blast graphics while they look nice they were somewhat muddy.

My favourite best looking are by far Burst Limit and Raging Blast 1.

Can't believe you left Gran Turismo 4 and Tourist Trophy out of it. :-/

GT4 looks quite spectacular on PS3 60GB although I haven't tried TT yet because I'm not really much of a bike-type gamer.

Yeah Raging Blast 1 was better than Ultimate Blast. I forgot about RB1 almost. Though Burst Limis were my favorite. Yea I'm not a fan of Gran Turismo so....kinda never seen or played it and Tourist Trophy well could't think of the name at the time  . The point is that BoZ may not be the best Ps3 game graphics(There is worst to be honest. Much worst) and quite frankly I could care less about graphics but BoZ is no where near Ps2 graphics. The best Ps2 game graphics is perhaps CLOSE to BoZ graphics.

If you want a proper comparison put the Ultimate and SSJ2 images of Gohan from Battle of Z next to images of Gohan from Budokai 2 or 3.

I would do it myself but I'm on my phone.

Sorry if this was already stated, but the "exclusive figure" that's for the European "Goku" edition is simply the Master Stars Piece Goku from Banpresto.

You can buy it on Amazon right now for $30.

I was thinking about getting it a couple months ago, but the paintjob is kinda meh... even if the figure itself is 11 inches tall.
I wipe it off the tile, the light is brighter this time, everything is 3D blasphemy.
My eyes are red and gold, the hair is standing straight up, this is not the way I picture me.
I can't control my shakes, how the hell did I get here? Something about this, so very wrong.
I have to laugh out loud, I wish I didn't like this. Is it a dream or a memory?

I guess its safe to say, if Budokai 4 came out all those years ago it would look like Battle of Z.

BoZ's graphics sorta look like a variation of the Budokai 2/3 graphics.

It's not just Budokai 2. All the Dimps hair looks pretty crappy to me. The only exception would be Burst Limit, as the lack of outer lines helps to make the hair seem less squished and oddly angled.

True as Gohan(Cell Games) SSj2 hair looks like a cornfield. But to me Budokai 2's hair stands out the most. They look so fucking bad it's getting on my fucking nerves. Ugh. Make me want to.......

BoZ graphics looks JUST LIKE Budokai 3 HD Collection graphics. But we know for sure that if this was Budokai 4 people would say the graphics are hardcore.

I really don't think B3 and BoX have similar graphics. Sure, the type of cell-shading is similar, but the models are way different. I actually think the B3 models were better than the Tenkaichi games. The BT models had a "blocky" look to them.

The Dimps models, especially if we are including Burst Limit, really only need a few tweaks to be the best models we've had.

The earlier models from the Budokai games had horribly blocky fingers, but that was fixed in Burst Limit. Other than that, the heads need redone. The hair is an obvious issue here, as it often looks squished and oddly modeled. The faces as a whole could be reworked to look a little more like the original art too, but the biggest issue I have is how their mouths look. Comes off like someone tried to create everything inside out of construction paper. :/

This. And they were animated better, more natural movement. Aside from the frozen winposes.

I'm sorta excited to find out what music they'll be using for the game because on the gameplay footage released it's Ultimate Blast's soundtrack that we've heard.

Although we do have proof that the game will have its own score;

I highly doubt we're getting Kikuchi's synthesised music but let's see.

I really liked the Dimps models too but I feel like Burst Limit was sort of a step down from Budokai 3. Everyone sort of looked the same in a strange sort of way that's hard to explain. I wasn't too fond of the generic anime angry eyes they gave a lot of characters whenever they got angry in the game. And why did the super saiyans all have SS3-like pupils?

This, I agree with 100 percent. Even the win poses were more fluid than Spike's.

However
Big Momma wrote:The BT models had a "blocky" look to them.

Both Dimps and Spike are guilty of having blocky models in their PS2 era games whereas they both get props for rounding them out on their respective games this generation.

Also though Spike's animations have improved they're still a bit inferior to Dimps' even counting the games from the PS2 days.

And the Wii U.

But, yeah, I always preferred the Dimps models as opposed to Spikes. I can live with them being slightly off model if the models move fluidly.
