Kami also pointed out something else about Piccolo before he trained Gohan: When he kills Raditz, Raditz keeps his soul in the afterlife. The souls of people killed by the Demon Clan aren't supposed to cross over. So this Piccolo was definitely different all along.

I would say Raditz because he knows that Goku is stronger but then again, his accomplishments would be to destroy the universe...

I agree with Jerseymilk that Babidi would because he is most definitely a coward who just talks the talk.

None of them really had any goals to do something other than to destroy the world wichi think is highly un-original..

Vegeta couldint be concidered a villain but more of an Anti-Hero

What about 17 (i have not seen the Super 17 saga) because his sister is apart of their gang...

I have the perfect one! Garlic Jr! He's a coward! Without his henchman, he's nothing!

What about Captain Ginyuu and the Spice Boys, they were cowardly too

Maybe Dr...uh..ya know, the Red Ribbon Army dude! The one who made the Androids! Yeah, if he had any other goals then to destroy Goku, he would be thinking "With my diabolical inventions and their powers, we could be un-stoppable!"
I like this question, its very original.

Well..About the Super 17 arc.. If you don't want spoiler, don't look below.

At the beginning of the Super 17 arc, Juunanangou kills Kuririn and then I think kills his sister (it looks like he did, but I can't be sure... Need to get the next DVD). However, this wasn't done by will. He's being controlled by the evil 17 Dr. Gero and Miyuu created in Hell. The reason he killed Kuririrn in because Kuririn was bringing out his real self and evil 17 was continually re-controlling him. So I think it was sorta out of frustration.

Now let's see just how wrong I am.

The villains who would most likely convert would be:

Piccolo: He did, when he was training Gohan. He gained a soul when he
started to care for him (ex. Angelus and Angel only it was gypsies)

#16: He already kinda was a good guy to begin with and his hatered of
Goku could be deleted from his memory

#17: If the situation arised he would

Cell: He only wanted to destroy the world and he like most of
Dr. Maki Geros' creations rejected their creator

Babidi: His cheers for Goku say it all

I have the manga with me, and that was never stated. He just gives the senzu because if Piccolo died then Kamisama would also die. And Piccolo had no honor, he just thought that that was a fun game. Look at how he almost defeated Goku. He played dead, and when Goku wasn't paying attention, shot him.

I don't have the dbz manga with me, so I have no way of knowing if Kamisama's quote was filler or not. Could anyone check it?

It's not filler. Trust me TripleRach knows her manga. :) I have the manga with that scene in it. It's in Book 2, chapter 13.

Here is the exact scene:

Popo-san: "You seem troubled my Lord...What is the matter?"

Kami-sama: "Our Piccolo...it seems that he is indeed different from before...He is definitely evil, but it feels like the crude, cunning violence he once had is gone..."

Popo-san: "That was my thought as well...One thing is certain: no longer is he the Piccolo Dai-mao of old."

Kami-sama: "I knew that there was something amiss when Raditz's soul, after he was killed by Piccolo ended up in the underworld...Usually souls of those killed by demons cannot rest in peace, and drift in space, suffering...The fact that the Piccolo-killed Raditz was in the underworld, nevertheless, means that Piccolo is clearly different from before..."

This scene takes place before Piccolo has trained Gohan.

And here is the other scene that I mentioned about Gohan talking to Piccolo about his father's opinion, also in Book 2, chapter 17:

Gohan: "Hey... you fought my Daddy before, didn't you?"

Piccolo: "And I will again...If we can beat the Saiyans, it will be his turn next..."

Gohan: "But Daddy used to say...you're not as bad of a bad guy as you used to be, before you died and came back. I think he's right...but Mommy and Grandpa were sure scared of you..."

Not to go off topic, but was that really his first name?

So then you would contend that Piccolo is pure evil? And if so, then how do you explain that he was a good guy for almost the entire story?
He WAS pure evil, but Gohan changed him. Come on, look at Piccolo's Jr. personality at the end of db, it's more like his fathers personality than his Freeza/Cell Saga personality. It's easy to see that Gohan, and not his death, was the turning point of his charachter.
Ma Junior at the end of DB was looking for revenge against Goku, and yes, he was evil -- but not *pure* evil. I'm pretty sure it was never actually addressed in the series, so it will just have to remain my own personal opinion and not anything canon, but I don't think that pure evil can be turned good. If you tell me Piccolo was pure evil, it seems to me that he would remain pure evil. That's kind of the idea behind being pure evil: there isn't a shred of good in you, so how can you become good?

In any case, others have already cited manga passages stating that he was different from Piccolo Daimaou even prior to Gohan's training; coupling these official quotes with my own understanding of the concept, I would say he was never pure evil, and the training with Gohan helped the good part overtake the evil part.

Thats what he was called in the spanish DBZ. He is often reffered to as simply as Dr. Maki until Cell came along and then it was Dr. Gero.

[edit] Trunks first reffered to him as Dr. Maki Gero.
