Holy crap, that movie 9 scene IS indeed awesome! Yet again, I miss a scene that very well could have placed high on my list

. In the spirit of pointing out such a great scene, you win an official No-Prize! Thanks for bringing that one to our attention!
In terms of the GT storyline involving the Evil Dragons, I think most of us can agree that, despite being a part generally despised GT series, the concept of the Evil Dragons/Dragon Balls in and of itself IS very badass. It COULD have been so much more, considering the uniqueness of the concept. I just think the *execution* of the arc is what caused it to leave a bad taste in our (and by "our", I'm mainly referring to me and Mike) mouths.
One of my most clear memories of my last days of buying fansubs on tape was getting a few DBGT Evil Dragons tapes... and falling asleep in the middle of episodes on more than one occassion (specifically, I think I remember Pan being involved somehow, but I ended up fast-forwarding through the episode when I realized nothing was actually progressing). I think maybe it they got into the meat and potatoes sooner, and maybe dedicated one episode per evil dragon, it wouldn't have been quite as painful to watch.
Just a side note, just because I/we call a plot line derrivative doesn't mean it
can't be enjoyed. For example, I personally enjoyed the Super 17 arc to a certain extent (mainly due fact that I always liked #17). On the other hand, I think the Tsufuri-jin concept is both derrivative AND crappy (in GT I mean, not the original plot points in which the Tsufuru-jin are mentioned), so I guess I can't defend that one.
Regardless, I'm not expecting rocket science from ANY DragonBall storyline (you said it yourself; this shit ain't exactly deep). If I want a "deep" show, I'll watch something else. But still, I can enjoy it for what it is, and "what it is" can sometimes be humorusly derrivative (hence the creation of that particular Top 5 List; I make most of them with humor in mind,
not to necessarily hate on something. Again, I liked the Super 17 arc overall, despite its blatant flaws. Making fun of stuff I love in DB is something I've been doing ever since the early days of my ToT site, so again, it may come off as harsh, but deep down, I hate because I love!).
But whoa, what the hell am I babbling about anyways? This wasn't even a subject of this podcast, really!

I guess I have a case of that "bored at work" thing, too.
