Who took the worst beating?

Edit: Vegeta in almost every fight...including movies.

How is getting whipped worse than the stuff that Freeza did to the main characters?

Physically? Goku's defeat at the hands of Oozaru Vegeta.

Physically, Mentally, and Emotionally? Vegeta's defeat at the hands of Freeza.

Well, there was the time when Freeza was repeatedly punching Vegeta in the back. Looked pretty painful, but I'm not so sure it's more painful than getting whipped.

There's Kid Goku in DragonBall, he gets beat up a lot. Like that part where Tien grabs him with four arms and keeps headbutting him in the balls.

the power gab between Cell Juniors and the human Z warriors :shock: still it has to be Goku vs king Piccolo or any fight Vegeta is in is just as worse as the next ouch.

Movie wise, I would have to say Goku took the worst beating. I mean, have you ever seen the battle against Broli? He jumped over five times on Goku's abdomen as well as proceeding to mercifully punch his it through a large boulder. Out of that entire film, those scenes were the most brutal since you could actually feel the pain of the character. However, series wise - I would have to say Vegeta took the most beating out of everyone in the series. He would make an epic entrance only to be badly torn to shreds by the villain. This mostly implies to his battle against Kid Boo.

I think Goku takes the worst beatings in the series. It's a toss up between his fight with Piccolo at the 23rd Budokai and his fight against Vegeta. Both times he is immobilized because his limbs are broken. Piccolo breaking his bones makes me cringe. At least Yamcha passed out, Goku felt every second of it.

Of course, that would be Freeza.

He got hit by a large Genki Dama, got beaten up by SS Goku, got sliced into pieces, got hit by full power ki blast from SS Goku, and then the freaking planet exploded in his face!

Vegeta is easily beaten (in some cases), but Goku finish the 80% of times like this:

Majin Vegeta against Majin Buu was a pretty good beat-down. SSJ2 Gohan making Cell throw up 18 was brutal, too. Nail's fight against Freeza also gets an honorable mention.

That was more humiliating for Nail than incredibly brutal or sadistic from the outset; Freeza was just entertaining himself - well, until Nail pissed him off.

Freeza didnt feel being cut to pieces. He died the instant Trunks cut him down the middle.

Everything. You think her fight would have the same reactions and be mentioned so many times in this topic if she wasn't a woman? That's pretty much most of the reason why people think its so brutal. There are lots of fights in Dragon Ball where the fighter gets way worse injuries than Videl got. But somehow many remember her fight right away when thinking of worst beatings in Dragon Ball.
