Should Vegeta achieve SSJ God?

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

If Toriyama plans on making the second film revolve around Vegeta being the main character, then he should at least have him transform into SS3 before God mode. This would be unless he happens to just skip a transformation and go onto the next like what he did with Gotenks being able to turn SS and just straight into SS3.

Gotenks can turn SSJ2. It even appeared briefly

Dunno. I can see why people want Vegeta to be SSJ3 first.

But I actually - in a strange way - think it's better storytelling if Vegeta DOESN'T go SSJ3 first.

BoG made it clear that SSJ God is not about personal power or attainment or ego, it can only be attained via the cooperation of six pure hearted Saiyans. For Vegeta to be at the point where this is not a goal for him would be a major evolution in his character. Otherwise he's just the same power hungry, self-centered guy he always was. And the direction he's been evolving has been away from that.

So he can become SSJ God but it's only on loan to him, and only via cooperation and trust of others. This is really huge. I'd like to see how the writer handles it. It's a much bigger writing challenge and much bigger storytelling moment for this character than for it to simply be the latest new "level up". And to me, BoG was so good because it had elements of storytelling beyond merely "leveling up".

I guess this is an unpopular opinion that I have.

I have to say that is don't like the design of the SSJ God, but I do like the idea how can it be created. I mean every transformation in DBZ and were something like "I become mad and I go even further beyond". Alll of the transformations are based on huge anger, appearing lightnings and making earthquakes. This transformation is based on peace in soul and heart, without any effects on nature, but titanic power.
