There are only two words FUNimation needs to use to clear up the conflicting information without actually revealing anything one way or another:
"Stay tuned."
"Stay tuned."
Re: Buu Saga Kai
That would imply that there is something in the works whereas Christopher Sabat is trying to convince us that they haven't even decided if they're going to dub the Buu saga of Kai.Kendamu wrote:There are only two words FUNimation needs to use to clear up the conflicting information without actually revealing anything one way or another:

They can say whatever they want. They could say, "Dragon Ball Z Kai? What's that? We've never even heard of it! Get out of here with your crazy talk and stupid fan rumors, you piece of garbage!" As long as they follow it up with, "Stay tuned," afterwards, you know that they're just unable to show their hand just yet, but they didn't technically break any sort of NDA.qjz123 wrote:That would imply that there is something in the works whereas Christopher Sabat is trying to convince us that they haven't even decided if they're going to dub the Buu saga of Kai.Kendamu wrote:There are only two words FUNimation needs to use to clear up the conflicting information without actually revealing anything one way or another:

FUNimation does it all the time. It's like their (open) secret code or something.

The Satoshi storyline continues to continue. Pocket Monster XY began October 2013. Iwane Masa'aki, a former Dragon Ball Z animator on the Studio Cockpit episodes, is the series' go-to guy for action cuts.TheGmGoken wrote:Hold the phone. Pokemon is still going on? Which is odd because then we must question his knowledge on Ocean kai. Now that there is news that there is no plans to dub it (yet)...i wonder whats going on?Flame Dragon wrote:Why would Sean Schemmel lie?? If they never had even bought the Buu Saga, what would they gain from making us think otherwise?

Again, we don't know if this is "news." We have a lot of reason to suspect that this is a lie, and likely one that FUNimation has asked them to say.eledoremassis02 wrote:Which is odd because then we must question his knowledge on Ocean kai. Also, it's important to note who "they" are (referring to Flame Dragon's post). FUNimation has, to this day, not made any sort of official comment regarding the Buu saga of Kai, and Schemmel, Hebert, and Sabat are not technically FUNimation employees so much as they are freelance contractors. So any statement they make is not necessarily indicative of anything FUNimation wants to say.

Re: Buu Saga Kai
I received a reply from Sean Schemmel and I updated the article at the bottom.
http://thedaoofdragonball.com/blog/news ... all-z-kai/
"I’m sorry to say that I cannot comment on the Buu saga at this time."
Classic NDA response.
I changed the title of the article from "Is not dubbing" to "Has not dubbed," because according to Reddit I am a sinful and manipulative person for writing in the present tense.
To repeat myself here, if Chris has to comply with an NDA, then why confirm twice in the negative, rather than say nothing? It’s one thing to do what Sean did and say that he can’t talk about it, it’s an altogether different thing to say “No,” followed by another “No.”
Have we all become the victims of a classic Christopher Sabat prank?

Re: Buu Saga Kai
If so, then we fell victim to one of the world's classic blunders.
The most famous is to never get involved in a land war in Asia. But only slightly less well known is to never get involved with Christopher Sabat when DBZ IS ON THE LINE!! HAHAHAHAHA.

Re: Buu Saga Kai
Anyone else notice that, even though the Kai recut depleted the episode count to half of what it once was, it STILL kept ass-loads of arguably unnecessary filler? That means the majority of the Z anime was just filler/padding. It makes me wonder how much they're going to cut out of the Buu arc, as it's the longest saga in the series.

Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.
Re: Buu Saga Kai
One twenty-one or so minute long episode could easily adapt three chapters of the comic, so yeah. 519/3 = 173 episodes. The 1986 and the 1989 series combined are 444 episodes.RandomGuy96 wrote:Anyone else notice that, even though the Kai recut depleted the episode count to half of what it once was, it STILL kept ass-loads of arguably unnecessary filler? Re: Buu Saga Kai
Yeah, I'm thinking that it's just an NDA thing. There's been too many hints along the way that it's already been being worked on.
I will literally laugh my ass off (no, seriously - it'll just pop right off) if we end up getting official confirmation and a trailer or something for Ocean Kai now before we get something out of FUNi for Boo Kai though. Let the chaos continue!

Re: Buu Saga Kai
A straight adaptation of the Buu arc probably shouldn't be more than 35 episodes, but that's not factoring all the "intertwined" filler of Z. Maybe they'll get 40 episodes out of it?

If it turns out Sabat is indeed lying about the production because of his NDA, then that only backfires on Sabat himself. It would have been smarter for him to say nothing then to lie.
