Piccolo as well if you want to include DragonBall.

He literally broke! He didn't die because Vegeta wanted to torture him.

Piccolo (both Daimao & Ma Jr.) was around as strong as Goku, not over 3 times stronger.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

I guess, haven't really seen or read too much of DragonBall. I'm just going off of little bits I've seen here and there. If we're talking about people 3 times stronger than Goku, would you say Raditz fits the bill?

So now that I've seen all three Broli films I have to say he's not a good character at all, most of the time he screams KAKAROTTO and rarely does he say something other than that. Bio-Broli was the best of the bunch and I'd watch it again unlike The Legendary Super Saiyan Broli & Broly Second Coming.

Rest in peace Broli as it wasn't his fault how he turned out but Toei's.

I don't hate the character, but I certainly dislike when people make him a Mary Sue.

He just never has a good reason to do what he does. His hatred for Goku is unexplained, vague and senseless.

Though his fanbase is what makes him easily loathable. He has no likable traits and no personslity at all but the fanbase too often uses him as the poster-child for the ultimate villain in every fan-fic.
Zephyr wrote:The fandom's collective fetishizing of "moments" is also ridiculous to me. No, not everyone needs a fucking "shine" moment. If that's all you want, then all you want is fanservice, rather than an actual coherent story. And of course those aren't mutually exclusive; you could have a coherent story with "shine" moments! But if a story is perfectly coherent (and I'm really not seeing any compelling arguments that this one is anything but, despite constantly recurring, really poorly reasoned, attempts to argue otherwise), and you're bemoaning the lack of "shine" moments as a reason for the story's poor quality, then you're letting your thirst for "shine" moments obfuscate your ability to detect basic storytelling when it's right in front of you.

He's basically Kid Buu before Kid Buu.

But way weaker (unlike what his fanbase would say) and less funny.
Canon is Jaco, Dragon Ball except for EoZ, Dragon Ball Super anime and manga (both are separate canons)

I gotta admit the part where Goku freaks out over Broly licking his own blood always makes me laugh.

That and Vegeta is just :( in the first movie.

I probably am the lone stranger, and it's an unpopular opinion...

But Vegeta in the first Broly film is my absolute favorite thing about the film.

Half the games portray Broly as like the most powerful Z character in the series. (has him fighting SSJ Gogeta in the beginning intros, and Budokai 3 places this character right after defeating Super Buuhan, Goku saying he "senses a power stronger than Buu"...)

And there is a ridiculous Broly fanbase on youtube, most of them claim that he can beat any Z character yet cannot back up their claims, and some haven't even seen the whole show to begin with.. :problem:

Just a few of the reasons why we hate Broly

I will admit, when I first saw his movie The Legendary Super Saiyan, it was awesome. But then Second Coming and Bio-Broly happened and that ruined it.

I don't remember if I posted in this thread yet, but I'll just say I think Broli is decent. As a character he's kind of one dimensional, but on the other hand he's supposed to be insane. Character wise, he's kinda like a more aware kid Buu. Honestly, I think the best part is his design, which I'm quite a fan of (more so his normal and blue-haired forms).

Only in movies 10 and 11. In 8 he has actual dialog.

Like 2 or 3 lines. And then more "KAKAROTT!!!!" and needless yelling/charging.

To me, Movie 8 Broly never cared that much for Goku after he went LSSJ. I mean, besides his first sentence ("I'll start the carnage with you"), he just beat him down and that's it. He beat down the others, killed Paragus and only sounded a bit suprised when he saw Goku walking up to him. In Movie 10 however, it begins with him saying KAKARROTTO 3 times, he wakes up, screams "CACHALOTE!!" and doesn't say anything different for the rest of the movie.

Somehow Broli was Top #3 on Dragon Ball Z Villains by WatchMojo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uECtg1-nnTA

With so many great villains they gave the third position to the moronic Broli. :(

At least 1st place was given to a good villain.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.
