Well, the question on my and everyone elses mind, is:

Does he still have the same ocarina solo in the dub version or did they change it?

We're all dying to know

Its a different song every time he plays. Somtimes you can't even hear it.

Um... what is your basis for this? It's been proven that Dameon Clarke voices Scar on FMA.

Mignogna plays Ed.

Tapion is voiced by a new guy named Jason Liebricht (not sure how that's spelled). I met him in person, and got him to sign my DVD along with Sean Schemmel, Christopher Sabat, and Kara Edwards when I was at Wizard World Chicago this weekend.

I thought the movie was quite good, and i strongly disagree with you on most of these things. The only thing that i agree with you all on is Tapion's song. At first, I was furious that they changed the song, but as i kept watching, i realized that the new song was actually pretty good, though i still wished that they had kept the original song in. Even though the new song was pretty good, i have a special place in my heart for the original. I can even play it on my own occarina.

Other than that, i have no choice but to disagree with you all on everything else. I thought the movie was great. I loved the acting with Tapion. I know perfectly well why they pronounced it "Hirudegarn". I liked the rest of the score very much. The "We need balls" line was hilarious, whether it was intentional or not. And, overall, I think the movie was just great, though i'll still watch the Japanese version just as much as the English version.

I just don't understand why Funimation says that they'll be pushing back the release date, and then release it early. It makes no sense! But then again, when has Funimation ever made sense?

Actually FUNimation didn't release it. Tanooki got an advance copy at Otakon. Right, Tanooki?

It would have been a FUNimation release. The DVDs are probably already replicated, but you also have to get the proper authorization/solicitation to put them through distributor/s.

That and they'd want to try and create hype by having them sold early at Otakon.

They're called Pre-Release copies, to be precise. Only a certain amount are made for a specific event. It takes longer to produce copies for the entire country, especially one as big as the US. Takes up more money to make more, too.

Question: Did FUNi give Hildegarn a different name for his transformed "bug" form like they did with Janemba being named 'Janempa' in his fat form?

So maybe this won't be the final product. I really hope that it isn't. They said that they were delaying it so that they could possibly get the Dragonbox footage.

I don't remember them stating that they were trying to get the Dragon Box footage. Maybe it went over my head.

Everyone here knows Iam kinda a FUNimation fan myself. I just don't reply back to post about how bad the English voices are cause it will just start a big argument that will ultimately get locked. I also understand where there comming from.

Iam not saying I love the English version, but the English version to me is like a song re-mix. You know the song but now its all changed, sometimes it sounds good, sometimes it doesn't. :?

Nah, this is in regards to the episodes. They never did say Dragon Box remasters. They only mentioned remasters in general. This is, however, the final product as the movie was recorded long ago. As I mentioned, it's mainly delayed for purpose of releasing more copies. That and most likely so they can give Otakon attendees a chance to buy a pre-released copy.

I saw the movie in theaters, and they played the Japanese version with FUNimation's subtitles. The name was romanized as "Hirudegarn", so that's actually the pun on his name being stemmed from "Hirude" like Julian mentioned. Tapion sounds okay when he's speaking lowly, but his angry voice is...youch. Tiffany Volmer sounds like she's doing an awesome job as Bulma from those two clips though. Also I think the writing for this movie was done pretty well, especially in Tapion's story...oh and:

"WE NEED BALLS!"

-Goku

Was this at a con or some kind of mysterious alien alternate dimension screening no one knew about.

What I'm hating about this is all the librities they've taken with the story. Black mMagicians become kashvar, the sword is found by a wizard, "dragon fire". It sucks even more since the wikipedia article on Hildegarn is already starting to go by these changes :x .

I've watched the preview and I don't like how Hildegarn sounds. He now sounds less like a monster and more like a man trying to sound like a monster (did they really need to change his voice? He doesn't speak, just roars). And yes, Tapion's angry voice does indeed suck.

well i bought the pre-release at wizard world in chicago. also got to meet Sean Schemmel, Chris Sabat, Kara Edwards, and Tapion's VA.

anyways, the dub; meh, it's all right. it could've ben done beter. i just had a feeling that tapion voice would be very simialr to trunks'. and goku said "Dragon Fire"? hell, i couldn't even make out what he said even after i rewinded it twice. i defintiely enjoy the japanese version better i must say
