Nail wasn't impressed by Vegeta or any of Freeza's henchmen yet considered Piccolo's strength tremendous. And he outright said the Kaio training he did was abnormal to have made him so much stronger. He even said that such a power was unbelievable. Piccolo also states that his own power has VASTLY increased, and thinks he'll be able to take Freeza despite all the big jumps in power from Nappa to Freeza he has witnessed. So any way you cut it his gains in that week were ridiculous.

So...? Does that mean the power levels for Vegeta and co on that page also can't be taken seriously?

That really wouldn't make up for the massive power difference between pre-sword Gohan and Goku.
There's simply nothing concrete. He got better, Nail is impressed, that's it. He doesn't have to be better than the others for Nail to be impressed by him, since we're given absolutely zero context for what Nail is talking about, what he considers amazing and what he's comparing it to. Given that Piccolo was completely clueless of Freeza's power, he's probably unaware of the jumps and so his confidence is meaningless.

No, I'm just saying that the V-Jump page is probably taking the anime into account. But Vegeta, Kuririn and Gohan weren't portrayed any differently between manga and anime at that point.

The difference shouldn't be massive to begin with. And given that Goku only swings it around for one panel, it's perfectly believable that he'd be worse at it than someone weaker than him who had become used to it.

Vegeta stated that Dabura would have beaten Gohan if their fight continued. This is someone who is probably equal to 50% Perfect Cell.

Goku said that he could use Fusion with Gohan or Vegeta if they were alive when he was trying to think a way to kill Boo.
And even if they could, we don't know the exact requirements, and how small the gap has to be.
We know that they must have similar powers, and a massive gap doesn't sound like "similar".
the gap between Vegeta and Goku was the same as it was at the Cell Games
That doesn't mean that Goku was exactly as many times stronger than Vegeta as he was back then, it just means that Vegeta is still weaker than Goku.
Vegeta considered Gohan's power pathetic.
Of course it would be pathetic in Vegeta's eyes, Gohan should be far stronger than he was 7 years ago, but he actually is weaker than back then.
He was quite obviously just trying to put the idea of fusion out there for the others.

Again, we don't know what similar is to Goku.

No, he outright said that the gap didn't change at all.

Yet he still states that he's stronger than Gohan.

Piccolo's power is unbelievable. The others are not. Nailccolo is many times stronger than Piccolo. Not tens of times. Piccolo has accumulated a vast amount of power in a short time period. All of this seems pretty concrete.

He doesn't know specifics, but he does know that everyone has dramatically increased powers many times over, going by the battles.

If it doesn't contradict anything, why doubt it?

It should be quite big going by Vegeta.

He's probably referring to the Bardock special. Zarbon was the one who first recommended destroying Planet Vegeta because the saiyans were rapidly growing in strength.
It was actually Beerus disguised as Zarbon #StayWoke
Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

No, again, we have no context for Nail's quote. You can't say for a fact that Piccolo is stronger than the others, or that the fusion didn't make them many tens of times stronger. If Piccolo is made many tens of times stronger, then he is many times stronger. Nail doesn't have to be exact, he's literally just saying it will multiply his power.

Does he? Because he shows no such indication that he has any idea how much stronger anyone has gotten.

Because there's nothing in the manga to support it, and it is far more inconsistent than anything we've concretely gotten from the manga.

And Goku saying he could fuse with Gohan goes against that. I think that's a better indicator than what Vegeta said, and I really don't buy that he was putting the idea of fusion out there as he was just upset that he couldn't fuse with Gohan and was surprised when Popo brought up the boys.

You are taking it too literally, Ki sensing doesn't work like scouters do, it's not going to calculate the power difference between two fighters and calculate how strong they got since then.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

I don't know what to think about the RoSaT filler because on one side, we can see Goku and Gohan interacting, which I love, but on the other hand in those scenes Gohan is really intense about wanting to fight Cell and avenge everyone or whatever and when he actually gets to fight Cell and he doesn't want to kill him it comes off as really weird. I think it's mainly because of the RoSaT build up that people find Gohan's behavior in the Cell fight weird.

It was not about wanting to fight Cell, it's about Gohan berating himself for his docile nature, and wanting to be of assistance to others. Besides, Gohan's behavior in the Cell fight can be interpreted as out of character either way.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

Yeah, well, I don't think we need another topic of Gohan's OOC-ness or lack of it in the Cell Games, so I apologize for bringing this back up, I just thought that the RoSaT filler made watching the Cell Games in the anime different than it was in the manga, but maybe it was just my impression.

I think this may be why Teen Gohan isn't my favorite Gohan. His self-esteem was too low.

Well this partially already was explained during the conversation Gohan had with Cell in the middle of the fight. He didn't want to be pushed too far, he wasn't sure if he would was even going to be himself. Since he sort of "lost his mind" during previous battles (i.e. Frieza, Raditz), and remember at first, during the Raditz fight and during the end of the 1st movie, he couldn't recall any of what happened?

He is well aware of this hidden ability by this point in the show, he knew why Goku depended on him to finish the battle with Cell. Gohan, however, still did not know the extent of this sleeping power, and how far it would take him. I could understand his thinking on not "wanting" to fight back 100%.

I liked Goku and Yajirobe searching for the Ultra Divine Water in the labyrinth. I feel like it fleshed out the Daimao arc without being obnoxious at all. In fact, all the filler in that arc (the DB hunt with Kame Sennin and Tenshinhan) was exceptional.

I didn't like the Saiyan training filler. It was just irritating. Get on with it! Whenever I watch the Saiyan Arc, I just skip it.

True. That was the scene that probably made everyone hate Mr. Satan before I read the manga and realized he was, in fact, a pretty cool guy who doesn't afraid of anything.

I actually like most of the filler in "Z", it's most of the Dragon Ball filler that I don't care for. My least favorite by far has to be the Wedding Dress arc, I can't even sit through it anymore. What I do like about Dragon Ball's filler, though, is that when TOEI really needed to slow things down, instead of constantly stretching out manga material, a la "Z", they just added self contained filler episodes/arcs. I like this because I can just skip them when I don't want to watch them and don't have to worry about missing any of the manga material.
