We might hear Tullece's new voice in DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 2.theoriginalbilis wrote:Looks like I'll just give my UUC Movie 1 to a friend or family member, and get this sweet ass trilogy boxset!! I like how it's really inexpensive, just like the DB Movies 2-4 boxset.
Maybe they'll be smart and use the original cover art. Hell, since they've dropped the UUC label, it'd be awesome if we got actual movie covers like their DVDs of Movies 9-13.
I also look forward to hearing how the redubs will be done (call it masochism if you will, I do) and I look forward to hearing Tullece's new voice. (I hope Mr. Schemmel can pull off an evil Goku)...

Am I the only one who's not happy that FUNi has actually redubbed the first 3 movies? While all the garbage treatment that the rest of the series and movies had received from FUNi, Pioneer had spared those first 3 movies from that fate, but since FUNi has the rights to those movies now, they came to finish the job.
I will agree that I don't think they need to redo them because the dubs on those Pioneer releases are near perfect. Glad I have the DVDs of them still. I guess if you must have the current voices or Daimao's subs, then that's what the re-releases are there for.BoxerGloves wrote:Am I the only one who's not happy that FUNi has actually redubbed the first 3 movies? Well, the video quality will probably be better with a little less macro-blocking on the re-release.tarsonis wrote:I will agree that I don't think they need to redo them because the dubs on those Pioneer releases are near perfect. Unlike most of you I didn't get the redub of movie one. Though I don't have any version of it except the TV version I plan on getting the Pioneer DVD since I feel it's the superior product.
I have the Pioneer DVD of movie 2 and plan on getting the Pioneer DVD of movie 3 (have a VHS of it though) so needless to say (like some of you) I don't plan on getting these inferior Funi redubs.

Doubt it. After comparing the recent FUNi redub and the original Pioneer dub of the Dead Zone, it's clearly obvious that the FUNi re-redub the movie # 3 is gonna be the same piece of crap dub as the initial Saban/FUNimation edited-for-TV version of it. The only difference being, is that this future release of Tree of Might is going to be visually uncut. And that's it. Other than that, you receive the same, usual dosage of bullshit that's there to expect from FUNimation, when it comes to DBZ: inaccurate and punched-up "Americanized" scripts, the complete replacement of the music, over-acting voice acting quality (sorry dub fans, but FUNimation's Texas voice cast always seems to have a "mandatory obligation" to grunt too much, while dubbing the fighting scenes, and that doesn't help the dub either), and etc.Ranma wrote:I predict that the FUNi redub for Tree of Might will be better than the TV dub for Tree of Might.
