Nope. I definitely heard Schemmel in all of those lines except for the ones Yemma and Kami had. His Piccolo is almost spot-on, but if you're trained in spotting Schemmel in 4kids dubs, then you can tell easily. It's also Schemmel in the Tell Chichi bit, as well.
He did re-record part of Kami's though. He recorded up to "The demon's own ears" then it switches back to Sabat's. I'm amazed how well he's got Sabat voices down. Especially Piccolo, Piccolo it's almost unnoticeable that is isn't Sabat recording it. The Krillin one when he starts going "He's uh..." and "This isn't gonna be easy" are Schemmel. The second one almost sounds like Strait, so that's something. Also "Goku isn't with us anymore" / "He is coming back" / "Goku is gone, but" is Schemmel.

As for Piccolo "Your daddy didn't make it, here" is Schemmel. At least the here is. "Your father gave himself" is Schemmel. "Your father and I were able to defeat the man who took you away" is Schemmel. At least the took you away is. "But before he went" is Schemmel as well, as is "You don't want everyone on Earth destroyed, do you?". "Be quiet and take off your tunic" you can hear a little more of it being Schemmel though than a straight Sabat impression.

Now I'm curious how an episode or two would sound with Schemmel in place of Sabat and Strait's roles.

It's very similiar to his Nail in later takes, and his breathing pattern is a sore thumb in the earlier ones. The voice is a bit more tinny, as well.

Listen very closely to the "Be quiet and take off your tunic!" and compare with his Nail voice.

SSJ4 Furanki wrote:I came across this video comparing the Toonzai/Nicktoons versions. And most of the replacement lines sound like Schemmel. Gotta give him credit, with Piccolo toward the end, it almost isn't noticeable. I remember seeing him cover a Vegeta line or too. Usually don't watch the Toonzai version, so I'm wondering if it happens regularly:

Thanks for this mate! Very interesting, as I have never seen any of the TV broadcast versions of Kai. Funny to see how they are scared of Death.

Agreed. I only recognized the changes with Krillin (and even then, it wasn't super-obvious). The lines from Kami and Piccolo totally escaped me...pretty damn good impressions on Schemmel's part, I'd say!

I dont know why everyone hates penguintruth. I think yes, he's a bit TOO opinionated and he's a bit cranky. But he loves DBZ just like us.

For the record most of us don't "hate" penguintruth per se, what we have a problem with is how he handles himself on the forums, when he gives his opinion his wording is most of the time seen as extremely rude and disrespectful to other members and threatening or attacking to people like Sean Schemmel, don't get me wrong it's fine if you don't like someone or disagree with them, but when someone is being disrespectful and basically attacking another person (not to mention ignoring the sites rules) every chance they get, that isn't really the best way to convey their opinion, to be fair though from what I've seen lately he's been doing better which is a good thing, with that being said now to give my thoughts on the topic at hand, to be completely honest I'm actually surprised at how good Sean's imitations are especially Piccolo's now that's talent.
If anyone has any of the DB/DBZ/DBGT or Maho Tsuaki Sally Japanese single DVD's that they'd be interested in selling send me a PM and I'll see if we can work something out. ;).

I'm glad that for better or for worse Toonzai/Vortexx is still being discussed here at Kanzenshuu.

One weird thing I noticed is that 4kids/Saban is OKAY with mass death like that of a planet like at the beggining of Kai or an actual genocide like Raditz planned to do on earth.

...Actually, now that I think about it that's the That's A Million Is An Statistic thing in action.

I wonder if Sonny Strait could do a decent Schemmel Goku impression.
