Re: Buu Saga Kai
I'm sure the vegito vs buuhan and goku vs kid buu fights will get cut down but not to the point where they'r short like the mangagarnetjester wrote:Noooo! They axed a bunch of Saiyaman stuff!!Oh well, that was to be expected. However, most of the Buu filler is during the fights themselves, and I agree that if they make them as short and ridiculously fast paced as the manga it'd be over before 20 episodes. So I'm guessing the fight filler stays, which I'm glad about, because some of the best fights in DBZ happen in this arc imo.

Believe it or not, but the Afterlife Tournament saga was one of my favorite sagas of all of DBZ.xmysticgohanx wrote:The Saiyaman saga is like my favorite filler thokei17 wrote:According to a post on 2ch, a TV magazine says that episode 3 is about Gohan teaching Videl how to fly and Tenkaichi-Budokai begins on episode 4.

Re: Buu Saga Kai
I guess right now I'm the most curious to see how they even handle the Great Saiyaman stuff, since a bunch of it was never animated in Z. If, as they said at AnimeJapan, they're really trying to be as accurate to the manga as possible, then they're gonna have to animate about a chapter and a half that was never originally done in Z. Either that, or they're gonna have to work with the filler they used instead. Either way, I'm intrigued to see how they do it. Should be interesting.

I hope that means the episodes wown't be 66 like what chris sabat saidHujio wrote:They're really trying to be as accurate to the manga as possible.

Re: Buu Saga Kai
I'm kind of hoping they just use what available footage they have an add new dialogue to tie up the loose ends. It wouldn't be impossible to trace over the scene where Videl blackmails Gohan and add more flaps to Videl and Gohan's dialogue, I think.Hujio wrote:I guess right now I'm the most curious to see how they even handle the Great Saiyaman stuff, since a bunch of it was never animated in Z. Re: Buu Saga Kai
I've been assuming they would just cut it so that the start of an episode (most likely the first episode after Saiyaman's debut, given how quickly that goes in the manga) was Gohan defending Videl from the attack of the pterodactyls, getting the scratch on his cheek, and then that will allow the scratch that ends up being how Videl finally figures out he's Gohan.
Granted, that's still different from what the manga had, but it'd be pretty easy to condense it I'd think, and might be less jarring than if they did all new animation just to show how it went down in the manga.

I imagine they'll actually just get the guy who redrew scenes to mimick the art style he used and do it all XDDDDGyt Kaliba wrote:I've been assuming they would just cut it so that the start of an episode (most likely the first episode after Saiyaman's debut, given how quickly that goes in the manga) was Gohan defending Videl from the attack of the pterodactyls, getting the scratch on his cheek, and then that will allow the scratch that ends up being how Videl finally figures out he's Gohan.

I don't think we'll see scenes created from scratch. Episode #1 will definitely cover Dragon Ball Z episodes #200-201. It really shouldn't be difficult for episodes #203-204 to be combined into a single episode, especially if it is done Doctor Slump: Arale-chan style or a new Narration is added to tie the two episodes' footage together somehow.

Hmmm. Well color me surprised because I wasn't aware that some panels from the manga were never actually animated into the original Z anime. Re: Buu Saga Kai
Yeah, I highly doubt they will either, but I'm just throwing out all the possibilities I can think of. More than likely, I think they'll just edit things around it, possibly changing a little dialogue, and just call it a day. Although I hadn't thought of adding in some new narration, it is definitely a possibility. But who knows, they may actually surprise us.JulieYBM wrote:I don't think we'll see scenes created from scratch. Episode #1 will definitely cover Dragon Ball Z episodes #200-201. Yep. In order to stretch out the short Great Saiyaman story they rewrote a lot of it, although somewhat loosely basing it on events in the manga. But at the end pretty much nothing from the last half of Chapter 424 and the entirety of Chapter 425 made it into the anime. They are other instances of this as well, but this is the largest chunk left out.RocktheDragon wrote:Hmmm. To be upfront and candid, I take a little offense to that last statement, especially considering we had this discussion with you back when "Battle of Gods" was premiering. But, nevertheless, I'll say that KeyHoleTV falls into that gray area of legality. Copyright protection laws (specifically in the United States) are not really caught up to our current state of technology, so it's difficult to say, generally. But by the true letter of the law, in my opinion, it isn't necessarily illegal. Think of it this way -- Dragon Ball Kai airs on Fuji TV, a local station similar to your local ABC, NBC, or CBS channels here in the United States. As long as you own a TV, you're able to get the station. It doesn't require that you have cable or satellite service. In essence, you're essentially watching TV from Japan as if you were actually in Japan, only really you're a far ways away and the video isn't all that great.DragonBalllKaiHD wrote:If it's not, then why the heck would DaizenshuuEX and Kanzentai even encouraged us to use KeyHole to watch Kai back in 2009? The KeyHoleTV software was developed by OISEYER Inc. (based in California) in partnership with the Japanese company Cognitive Research Laboratories, Inc. (based in Tokyo). The software allows you to watch free TV programming, with all of their commercials in-tact. It holds a US patent and is compliant with the Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications. Basically, there's nothing really illegal about it, since you're only viewing the programs. Now that said, some legal analysts may argue that. Really, there are people on both sides of the fence. However, downloading a show onto your computer without the commercials for your own personal means, that's an entirely different situation.

Re: Buu Saga Kai
I apologize if what I said offended you. I'm just taking it in my perspective when you consider the forum has a rule about illegal bootlegs. Why condone bootlegs when you allow us to talk about Keyhole, right? And I honestly don't remember ever having this discussion with you on the "Battle of Gods" thread so I apologize. It does irritates me a little bit when Blade said that Keyhole isn't a legal stream, and yet you guys told us a way to watch Kai being broadcasted in Japan. But I obviously misunderstood. If it's really a gray area, then I have no place in this matter.

We are likely going to wait until late 2014 or early 2015 for the Buu saga to come out in the US. I think 2015 could be likely since Funi can release BOG and the Buu saga of Kai in the same year.
