I loving that new theme song. I can't wait to hear the full version.

I wonder how the eyecatchers will change. I know the jingle will be different, but if they follow the same format as before I'm predicting the first set of eyecatchers being something like:

Before break: Gohan - top corner, Goten and Trunks (and possibly Bulma) bottom corner
After break: Great Saiyaman - top corner, Videl (and possibly other classmates) - bottom corner.

Curious as to whether or not they'll keep Goku shooting a Kamehameha followed by a Genki-dama or not as well.

It's been a little glitchy from my experience so far (which I'm sure they're working on), but yeah, it's a very nice touch. :D

I was wondering about the eyecatches as well. I was kind of thinking all those newly-drawn split-screen shots of the characters from the new trailer could be the new ones, but I suppose they could also be from either the new opening or new ending.

Dragon ball z kai buu arc on April 6th then game of thrones season 4 on April 7th :D :D :D .
It is clear that sometime in Mark Satan's life, he acquired the dragon balls and called upon shenlong to grant him immortality.

I think those split-screen shots could be from the opening, used at the exact same moment of the song than in the trailer since it seems perfectly synchronized.

Other than than, I suspect the whole presentation has been changed, including Goku throwing a Kame Hame Ha or a "hand-sized" Genki Dama in the eyecatches.
But we'll see, maybe it still is that same eyecatch presentation, just with new stills.

We'll also see if the "next episode preview" intro is still Goku saying "hi" on God's sanctuary! (I'd say there's a good chance it's still the same)

Don't forget you also have the sponsors screens and title screens to discover too!

I hadn't see that. And I agree, it looks very nice, but I think they should have put it earlier. :D

(Well, they have a lot of *work* to do with the website, so I kinda get it).

That's no joke. Knowing what covering Kai was like three years ago, I've been trying to get as far ahead with Buu stuff as I can, while trying to get caught up with old Kai stuff that never originally got done (mostly thanks to creating Kanzenshuu and "Battle of Gods"). We're also trying to get some Kai-related interviews done, catalog the new scenes from the broadcast of "Battle of Gods", cover the regular news, work on new content, finish up the Wiki, and have fun time with our families. All-in-all, we're quite busy, but we absolutely love what we do, and we wouldn't have it any other way. We just try to get done what we can, and I barely snuck-in enough time to make that countdown. So, with that said, I've just recently finished up porting over and working on documenting more re-animated scenes. Up until now you could only view episode 1, but you can check out the rest on the site now, although I still haven't done episodes 33 to 57 yet. Maybe someday...

Anyway, back on topic. Based on there being a new opening and ending, just like the Buu arc in Z, I'm pretty confident that they'll be using new eyecatches as well. However, I'm not sure about the next episode preview card. That didn't change in Z, but that doesn't mean they wouldn't change it.

Well, for whatever it's worth, I really appreciate all the work you guys put into it. This site is my go-to source for all things Dragon Ball-related.

The new theme has been released yet. Like you mentioned, it was performed lived at press screening, but no one was allowed to record anything (photos only).

On a different note, we have updated the site with some new episode titles unveiled in Saikyō Jump.

We'll have YouTube videos of the TV-size opening and ending by this time tomorrow; you won't have to wait much longer.

Judging from the episode titles...

Episode 099: Chapters 421-423
Episode 100: Chapters 423-425
Episode 101: Chapters 426-428
Episode 102: Chapters 429-430

I dunno, some of that just seems too fast to me. Hopefully they can prove me wrong, but the Freeza and Cell arc of Kai moved WAY too fast as well, so I'm not going to expect anything different.

I am glad they're keeping a consistent episode count by starting at #099, though.

It might look fast, but that's the way the manga is. We are just used to the old anime, so everything feels extremely fast.

Two to three chapters is too fast? Two chapters seems kind of slow...

Yeah, ask yourself this "does it really require more than six or seven minutes for this chapter?"

I noticed they kept Krillin fighting Super Buu, Yamcha fighting the Pterodactyl thing, and some of the Majin Vegeta filler when I saw the promo.

well some of the filler is so ingrained into the footage that it would be impossible to get rid of

I'm hoping that Funimation will announce a simulcast deal in the next few hours, but I have a feeling that the Dragonball franchise has such convoluted overseas interests that such an arrangement just wont be possible...

Anyway, let's stay optimistic!

Ehhh, I still think it's too fast. It depends on the contents of the chapters themselves. I don't doubt that you can adapt a bunch of these chapters into a single episode, but Kai has given me very few reasons to expect that they can do it effectively. That's the key. Most of my memories of Kai-Freeza and Kai-Cell involve being annoyed by editing that's too quick for its own good combined with voice actors rushing their lines. If they were adapting from scratch, the pacing would probably be much better. But for me, at least, it's a nightmare.

Again, I'd love for them to prove me wrong this time.

Wasn't it most of Kai's Saiyan arc where the editing was kind of wonky? Then things evened out when they got a new editor? Or am I remembering things wrong?

(Of course, Kai's treatment probably wouldn't benefit the Saiyan arc anyway, since at that point, Z was at least trying to actually adapt the material)
