I think the Westwood dub of buu arc came close to the original.

I really liked Brian Drummond's vegetto.
It is clear that sometime in Mark Satan's life, he acquired the dragon balls and called upon shenlong to grant him immortality.

Outside of a few lines here or there, I don't feel any of the dubs surpassed the original version. There's a wonderful simplicity and rawness to the original version's dialogue...

However, I do think Scott McNeil is amazing as Piccolo, and as much as I love Furukawa's performance and think he totally owns that role, I just think Scott McNeil's Piccolo voice has a texture, a demonic quality to the character that juuuuuuust slightly surpasses the original performance in my humble opinion.

I guess I like the "Mr. Satan Saves Earth" re-enactment film from the 25th Tournament better in the FUNimation dub than the Japanese version or the Westwood dub, which both play totally straight if I recall.

Korean dub of Trunks turning SSJ against Freeza. IT blew the Original right out of the world. When I mean perfect scream. It made Jpn look like Big Green. English Funi Z Boo arc was better than original Boo arc.

I feel the same way.

Sorry, I mean why do you believe the JPN Buu arc isn't as good as the dub Buu arc?

Simple. The music was better and fitted better. Kara Edwards Goten is better than Nozawa but not Korean Goten. I like the dialog in Boo arc for Funi better than Jpn which is extremely rare.

I'm not a fan of Edwards' Goten, it's too scratchy and woman trying to sound like a young boy. Even if I thought she was a great Goten, dub Trunks was awful, and cancels Edwards out.

What dialog did you feel was better? If there's a reason the dialog is as good in the dub, it's because the dub got a lot closer to the original.

Why do you think the music fits better?

Gotenks sound so good because of Goten(Funi wise that is)
All of the dialog. Thought was implied. Besides they're times when it was inaccurate and was better

Cause it fits the scenes better. Like Mystic Gohan funi theme and Goku Ssj3 theme. Lets not forget Kyle Herbert Gohan

It's too scratchy/raspy for me. I much prefer the JPN.

There are a few cues that are good, but I don't agree that the music is overall better, and even the SS3 Goku theme misses the point of the scene.

Few and far between

Kyle Hebert, while an excellent Gohan, is still not as good as Nozawa, plus he's a horrible narrator.

Well that's your opinion =p. Ms.Kara is awesome. Few and far between doesn't matter still inaccurate lines better than Jpn.

And I'm sure there are plenty of lines that are inaccurate and worse in the dub. I've heard Edwards is less raspy these days, which I'll be interested to hear in the inevitable dub, but she doesn't beat Nozawa, and I desperately hope they recast Buu and Trunks.

Oh, here's two HUGE reasons why the dub isn't better - Josh Martin and Justin Cook as Buu.

The guy couldn't act his way out of a paper bag. I appreciate his work behind the scenes, but not behind the mic. He sounds like he's trying to act, instead of just acting.

I'll admit that I do like how much more flowery (for lack of a better word) Freeza's dialog is in the Kai dub.

I highly disagree. Of course he's not better than original Voice Actor(what this topic about) but he's great as BOO.

Um, TheGmGoken is entitled to his own opinion. What voice performances you may not find enjoyable he might.

To be fair, GM's also entitled to his. As much as it may seem that I don't respect other people's opinions, I do. I just will argue the point, sometimes vigorously.

Anyway, my favourite dub voice is King Cold. I love the "What's a Goku" part.

Worst is Yamcha's. Only Ted Cole sounds decent as him, Furuya or bust.

Oops, misread that. Regardless the point still stands. Why does everyone seem to assume a disagreement is akin to saying you can't have a different opinion?

Are you writing in Buu talk?

Oof, you're breaking my heart. I can't stand dub King Cold. Kai's Cold is better, but still not great. And that line *Sideshow Bob shudder*

I couldn't disagree more about Yamcha. I think there are plenty worse than Yamcha. Not only is Cole more than decent as Yamcha, even Sabat is good. His Yamcha is among the more natural voices he uses.
