The Cell Saga Is The Lowest Rated Saga?

As rereboy just said, concepts like subjectivity are things that you have repetitively demonstrated to not fully grasp. What do you say to those such as TheGmGoken, who just admitted they did not grow up watching the Cell Saga, had a chance to watch it later on in life and actually enjoy it?

Also, Twilight? Consistent? Sensible motivations? You just lost any attempt at making some form of argumentative comparison right there, ignoring the fact that both series are near-incomparable at all. The same can be said when you described FAN-FICTION, MLP fan-fiction at that being in any form superior to the Dragon Ball franchise.
I'm not a fan of Twilight, but I can at least admit that the characters, even though they suck, are at least consistent and have better motivations than "because I feel like it".

Also, get rid of the notion that all fanfiction is terrible, self-fulfillment tripe. There are plenty of fanfics, not just MLP fanfics, that are wonderfully written and put DBZ's "writing" to shame.

Yeah, pretty much sums the show up right there.

Not really. Twilight is just a rehash of yet another vampire/werewolf/power-people story that uses the typical "harem" plot of everyone being interested in one character and that is build upon the notion that, somehow, abusive and stalky relationships are romantic and cool. All the characters are just paper thin and utterly boring characters who respond to these circumstances.

In fact, according to what I read, the author wrote the books based on a fan-fiction she had made about shipping Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy from the Harry Potter series. That ALONE speaks volumes if its true.

And yes, 99,9% of all fan fiction is terrible.

Just like DBZ's characters.

Where did you get that statistic from? If you actually take the time to read some, you'll find that there are several out there that are actually good.

No, almost all of DB's characters are extremely interesting even when they aren't doing anything special and the story and its world are both extremely original and fun. None of that is true in Twilight.

From my opinion. What makes you think I don't? I'm even one of the translators for DB multiverse.

And actually, I take back what I said before about it being on par with Twilight in terms of quality. It's actually worse. At least the characters in Twilight are consistent and have sensible motivations.
Are you serious? The only reason people like the Cell arc is because of nostalgia? You do realize a lot of us weren't 7 when we first started watching the show right? I personally didn't watch Dragon Ball Z all the way through until 2009. I continue to enjoy it and watch/read the show over and over again because the anime/manga is amazing. I really don't get the Twilight comparison 100 years from now Dragon Ball will still be around I doubt Twilight makes it another 10.

This is an 80s/90s animated all-ages show that was popular amongst kids. It's not some potent super weapon that might fall into the wrong hands that we have to protect from evil.

DB characters? Interesting? They're paper-thin idiots who don't have any proper depth in them. What depth a character might have is never expanded upon, or brought completely out of no where.

What's so great about DB's world? It isn't interesting in the slightest.

This is a Dragon Ball forum not a subjectivity forum. Debating that would be going off-topic.

I was talking about Cell Arc. How you said only nostalgia the reason people like Cell arc. Yet people responded like this
I just watched Dragon Ball for the first time last year and the Cell arc is my favorite, so nostalgia for me. I don't have nostalgia for anything TV or movie related anyways, because it never cared about it growing up
I missed most of Cell Arc as a kid. Only saw Final Flash and some random episodes due to family issues and not having cable. I rewatched Boo arc which I have the most nostalgia for and the arc has my favourite character Goten. Its crap after Vegeta dies. Its just boring and meh. I rewatched Cyborg- Cell arc. Loved it all. So its not nostalgia which people like to use as a excuse(love his reviews though) . Some people just like that part better. I find it MUCH better

I've only seen the first Twilight so I'll just go with that, but I found the whole movie kind of dull. The characters lacked a personality and the actors didn't do them any favors either. Not to mention the romance felt forced, there was never anything that actually convinced me that they found each other appealing.

Now if you compare DBZ to something like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, then I'd agree that Buffy is way better in terms of characters and romance.

A character doesn't have to be very complex to be very interesting and fun, which is what describes Dragon Ball the best. Take Goku for example. Hardly a complex character or a complex personality, he's more of a simpleton really. And yet he's extremely interesting, original and fun, even when he's not doing anything special.

I beg to differ. Everything about it is pretty interesting and original, from the setting of the world and universe to the characters and the story. But if you can't see it, then you just can't see it. Maybe you should watch Twilight then, since its more interesting in your opinion.

What?. Subjectivity forum? A forum, BY DEFINITION, is a place where people discuss and share opinions, which are intrinsically subjective. Once again you demonstrate that you don't know what subjectivity is.

You don't find the characters interesting. You don't find the world interesting. What about the series do you find interesting? From reading your posts, I can't seem to figure out why you're even here. Unless it's to push people's buttons; that's about the only thing I can see.

Twilight character are about as interesting as dirt.
The actress that played Bella was pretty much spot-on. She showed no emotion at all, zero acting skills. At least she was appropriate for the role.

If people think the Cell arc is any good without nostalgia goggles, then they obviously need someone to point out everything wrong with the saga. Which is a lot.

Or...you can stop pretending what you consider 'wrong' to be fact and accept that perhaps others have opinions that are equally as valid and aren't based on any form of nostalgia.

You're slipping into doing nothing but regurgitating the same old condescension and ignoring points by dismissing them over and over.

What would that accomplish exactly? You could list pages upon pages of issues that you feel the saga has but that wouldn't take anything away from my enjoyment of it. You seem to think that there is some general consensus of what makes a story good or bad, well news flash there isn't. Everyone has different tastes things they like and don't like and you don't have the right to determine for them whats good or bad.

His happy-go sympathetic nature and naivety mixed together with his ability to be pretty badass when it comes to fighting make him an original and highly unlikely protagonist and savior of the entire world that we cannot help but like and make us smile with how he acts and what he does. Also, his ironic and tragic background tied to the brutal nature of his people that only stopped influencing him due to a fluke of fate (in the form of a blow to the head) turning him from Earth's doom to its savior, accentuate the unlikeliness of this hero. Its all pretty interesting.

Its not off-topic if it ties in to Dragon Ball. And it does since you seem to have a hard time grasping what constitutes a subjective opinion regarding Dragon Ball and what doesn't.
