Looks like people aren't too fond of the Cell/Cyborg seasons. Doesn't really surprise me, honestly.

What are your thoughts on this?

IMDB doesn't have the biggest anime userbase; no single episode has been rated by more than 300 people. The driver's license filler episode averages out a 4.7; that's supposed to be a Western fan favorite. The graph's also, very likely, referencing the dub, hence the dubtitles, which would reinforce more than a few people's choices and opinions on the show. And, finally, it's the anime, where there are strings of episodes where the characters just stare at each other.

Too many factors for me, personally, to look at that graph and see anything telling or noteworthy.

I really don't think IMDB's user base is a great place to take ratings from. They tend to vote in extremes and honestly, they're not the greatest community of people in the world. I'd be far more interested in seeing this graph done with viewer figures from the original airing.

You are horribly wrong, good chap, but you are certainly not alone. The Cell arc is the closest DB ever gets to being the stereotypical muscle men pounding each other epically(epicly?) show people see it as.

I watch the show in the original Japanese language, so I've gotten so use to typing and saying all the characters names in their original pronunciation.

I watch it in Japanese too, I've just never felt the need to use romaji. Always seemed odd to me but hey ho, different strokes, different folks.

There's a lot of people out there who think the series should have ended after Cell, claiming that it was not only a natural ending point, but a peak in Dragonball's storyline - with the Buu arc being a huge let down comparatively.

But I'm not one of them, and by the same token I'm not someone who rates it as the worst saga either.

Essentially there's no such thing as an all-encapsulating, general consensus that accurately categorises a given saga as either good or bad. There's just opinions, some of which have support in some factions and others which don't. There's no definitive answer, no right and wrong - so honestly, you're wasting your time looking for one or casting out these statements.

Be your own man, make up your own mind - no one has the right to tell you otherwise, and if do? Ignore them.

On topic, I really like the Cell Saga, I never understood all the hate it gets. Sure it's dark compared to the rest of DB, but that's what makes it stand out. In a good way.

Wasn't "Z" at the height of it's popularity in Japan during the Cell Arc? I think I remember reading something about it on this website, but I could be mistaken.
