Anyone preferred if Toei made Goten the victor than Trunks?

According to the manga it's Trunks that won the battle but I wouldn't have minded if Toei changed it a bit and instead of Trunks winning the Kids Tournament it'd be Goten.

This isn't happening but I wish Toei would've thought of it.

They'd have had to alter the whole ending of the battle, which isn't really something I'd want changed just for the sake of being different. Besides, the original ending leaves both kids happy. Trunks gets to win, while Goten gets a few new toys. It'd be hard to think of something for Goten to give Trunks that the latter wouldn't already own.

I think Trunks is a funnier foil for Satan anyway.

As much as a Goten fan I am. The right person won. Unless Vegeta(majin) spoke about how even Kakarot children surpass his own. Not to mention Gohan once surpassed Vegeta.....Goten should had won! He would had made Majin Vegeta more epic.

No. An anime adaptation should stick to animating the canonical manga material, unless they're going with a completely original story, like the first Full Metal Alchemist anime. Also, I like that Trunks beating Goten is the reverse of the situation with their fathers. At least it gives Vegeta something to hold over Goku's head.

With that, Vegeta family has a streak of 3 wins agaisnt Goku Family. Vegeta beat Goku two times and Trunks beat Goten.

Most fans who identify with DB since they only watched anime first would surely be disappointed at the fact that even Vegeta's son is also destined to be like his father.

Aww come on, physically he's a Goku clone, only thinner, but I think that personality wise they are different. Goten is more mischevous and is an adorable kid, Goku was kind of a clueless savage, but he wasn't exactly loving (obviously, because his only family member had been dead for a while before he contacted any human being). I can see the point that they are both naive, but then again, so was Gohan. I think Goten is different enough from Goku personality wise to be his own character.
