Although Budokai 3 HD is a perfect port and plays just like the original I noticed that there were some minor changes to the gameplay in Budokai 1 HD. These are the ones I've noticed:
-Pressing P+K used to knock your opponent into the air when you were on the ground and downwards if you were already airborne. Now it simply floors your opponent when you use it on the ground and knocks them backwards when in the air. This is a bit of an annoyance as battles now have a tendency to remain on the ground for the majority of the fight which interrupts the natural flow of the game and gives it slightly less of a DBZ feel. Not a major issue but an annoyance.
-Certain strings that would always combo before can now be blocked by your opponent, preventing you from finishing them. An example of this is Goku's PPP>P were the last punch can now be blocked and punished even if your opponent gets hit by the first 3 hits.
-Sidestep cancelling in order to continue a combo on your opponents back is now impractical in some cases as they will automatically turn back around and block when they shouldn't be able to. This makes it pretty much impossible to combo into Goku's Spirit Bomb against any player who knows how to block as doing it from behind was the only way before.
Has anyone else noticed or been bothered by these changes?

Goku's PPP>P combo was always blockable at the last punch.90sDBZ wrote:Certain strings that would always combo before can now be blocked by your opponent, preventing you from finishing them. Haven't we already gotten these in GT? Goku dies, the DBs go away, and the Namekian DBs most likely won't be used again because of the Evil Dragons.

I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

Really? That's strange as the CPU never seems to block it on my PS2 version even on Very Hard nor on B2, B3 or IW.DBZAOTA482 wrote:Goku's PPP>P combo was always blockable at the last punch.90sDBZ wrote:Certain strings that would always combo before can now be blocked by your opponent, preventing you from finishing them. Do the changes to the gameplay affect your enjoyment of it?
