The last thing I want is for the core experience to be compromised by extra stuff. If they make an excellent core experience with this game, they can just make improvements and additions from then on in sequels. I'm also not opposed to the core experience getting additional story and character DLC if the game is successful enough.
As for characters, I really don't need tons and tons of playable characters because I'll likely stick to a couple of favorites for the most part. I'm not against them putting more characters into the sequels, though.

In heroes they did that with Baby, from what I've seen - Baby is Vegeta getting absorbed by the Parasite. If they did it the opposite of Buu where Vegeta (the victim is in control) having (Baby-Infection Capsule Equiped) his SSJ forms would be replaced with Baby's forms after transformation. I could see that working.Hellspawn28 wrote:In IW, they should have made Bebi Vegeta into a item transformation similar to Majin Vegeta. XV needs to make both Majin Vegeta and Bebi Vegeta into transformation items that you need to attach to the character. Same with Bebi Janemba if he ever shows up in the game.
On second thought from the fact that Baby has his own moves, fighting style and voice, he cant really be treated as an alt for Vegeta anymore than Super Buu is for Fat Buu. Hes probably an exception, he just only exists through Vegeta but he isnt actually Vegeta. His self-sustained form is his own character before he takes over Vegeta. So with that in mind, he'd be the one that would have to absorb Vegeta.TheGmGoken wrote:Bebi did more than take over the mind. He took the whole body. He's not even Vegeta no more. Everything is different. Just do what they did with Boo. That way you can get other Bebi forms as well. Pointless for Bebi to be in Vegeta slot.Hellspawn28 wrote:Both Bebi Vegeta and Majin Vegeta are both Vegeta got their minds taken over by a evil force. To me, there's not a big difference between the two since Bebi Vegeta would have the same set of moves as Vegeta expect for his final attack in his third form.
I'd assume hed have to be treated as his own character because GT Vegeta is his own character if they gave him the Final Shine Attack which wouldn't work on Z Vegeta if he was just a costume. I wouldn't argue if they gave Final shine to Z Vegeta though, but it conflicts. Just as GT Vegeta in IW refering to himself as "Super Vegeta" felt wrong.EXBadguy wrote:I too think Baby Vegeta should be his own character, but not Majin Vegeta. For Baby Vegeta though, either he becomes his own person, or as GmGoken said, just put Baby(2nd form) in and just put in the Vegeta absorption skill. Heck, I even want them to start with Baby Vegeta's first form, then the ripped 2nd form(which looks cool IMO), and then the final form. They did it with Vegito by starting with base.
Zephyr wrote:The fandom's collective fetishizing of "moments" is also ridiculous to me. No, not everyone needs a fucking "shine" moment. If that's all you want, then all you want is fanservice, rather than an actual coherent story. And of course those aren't mutually exclusive; you could have a coherent story with "shine" moments! But if a story is perfectly coherent (and I'm really not seeing any compelling arguments that this one is anything but, despite constantly recurring, really poorly reasoned, attempts to argue otherwise), and you're bemoaning the lack of "shine" moments as a reason for the story's poor quality, then you're letting your thirst for "shine" moments obfuscate your ability to detect basic storytelling when it's right in front of you.

Thank god! Someone is still talking about the game and not for the X character etc.cesarcoronel07 wrote:Ki charging confirmed! And other special attacks! read the first comment of the video you'll know what i'm talking about... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1ugw9fRWug
Btw, Super Dragon Fist is back.
Re: "Dragon Ball XENOVERSE" (PS4/XB1/PS3/360) Official Threa
Thanks for the tip! At least we know now what those two gauges are and how they're utilized.cesarcoronel07 wrote:Ki charging confirmed! And other special attacks! read the first comment of the video you'll know what i'm talking about... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1ugw9fRWug
Ki gauge
From the video it seems that to charge the ki gauge you:
-have to get hit, whether by a combo "finisher", a special attack, or a teleport attack.
-manually charge it.
-finish a combo string or just land your combo "finisher."
This is exactly like Fulgore in the latest Killer Instinct minus having to get hit.
It's interesting that you start with 0 bars at the beginning of the match. I guess this stops those from spamming their super attack at the start of the match or transform immediately (which looks like it costs meter)
So far, the techniques in that sub-menu are the only ones that uses the ki gauge.
Teleport gauge
You start with a max gauge and it refills over time after use. Manual teleport to the back of your opponent costs 2 bars, which I think is fair. Not much is shown using the teleport gauge other than that.
My biggest surprise is that transformations might cost meter, since it was in the same sub-menu as the other super attacks, instead of just needing enough like in the Budokai games. But if it just drains the ki gauge like in Budokai 3, you might see a lot less (or maybe more) transformations in matches depending on what techniques use the ki gauge: the more uses for the ki gauge, the less transformations.

The targeting HUD is so distracting... Couldn't they get rid of it on 1v1 fights?

This can obviously move at a Serious pace. I dunno if that'd be a good idea.Luso Saiyan wrote:The targeting HUD is so distracting... Couldn't they get rid of it on 1v1 fights?

The character seems to automatically point to the opponent, so why have a reticle around it? Alternatively they could fade it as the opponent gets closer.TheAldella wrote:This can obviously move at a Serious pace. I suppose so, huh? That sounds kinda clever, actually. Well, we really don't know much about things like that. That counts as a touch-up, anyway, imo, so of course they haven't gotten to that yet.Luso Saiyan wrote:The character seems to automatically point to the opponent, so why have a reticle around it? With Dimps, he'd probably just overlap on SSJ3, and TBH I don't have a problem with that as it wouldnt be that farfetched to see it like that. SSJ4 though was out of place done that way on B3/IW because it was an entirely different concept that didn't come off the same line as SSJ. If GT is in (seemingly unlikely as of now) I'd hope SSJ4 is exclusive to GT Goku. I would also help diversify Goku from GT Goku a lot more.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:Goku can transform on his own after BoG, so the same should go for the game.goku the krump dancer wrote:If BoG is included in the game I wonder how SSJGod will work. Maybe there'll be a "Will of the Good Saiyans" capsule for Goku.
Thats a relief. I think it was already confirmed to be so, but I love how Ki, Super Moves and Vanish energies are seperated to their own consumption systems, that alone would have radically reduced RB's problems.cesarcoronel07 wrote:Ki charging confirmed! For SSJ3 Goku to have DF, and a Super Kamehameha shared in a moveset on a Dimps Game would make my day: I really hope we get 2 ultimates to select from as Burst Limit had it. Then the idea Instantaneous Kamehameha used on any SSJ form would be perfect.Zenkashuu wrote:Btw, Super Dragon Fist is back.

That's not good. You're not supposed to be taking photos or video in the presentation rooms. Without the presentation dialog to go with it, people are gonna be judging this as if it's the full finished game.cesarcoronel07 wrote:Ki charging confirmed! The reticle and hud don't disturb me that much, but I'm seriously hoping this isn't a 4 player game this time. I just want this to be a 1v1 fighting game that works.Luso Saiyan wrote:That's why I specified 1v1 fights.Drev wrote:because 4 player support
If Bandai wants to release another 4 player game to consoles, they can port Zenkai Battle Royal (which has been proven to work, at arcades) and leave this one alone.
