Re: How Many Plan to Watch "Battle of Gods" in Theaters?
Looks like the movie will be screened at my local theater, and the one my sister used to work at, I might add. Too bad she doesn't work there anymore, otherwise I could've gotten in for free, since employees can get free passes for family members.
Not sure if I'll go see it though, since I already have the Japanese BD. The experience of DB on the big screen might be fun, though. We'll see.

Re: How Many Plan to Watch "Battle of Gods" in Theaters?
I've updated our theater map with states West of the Mississippi River, so I'll have to finish up everything to the East tomorrow. But it's insane to think there are already 455 theaters, and I'm expecting even more. FUNimation assumed at least 350 theaters? Yeah, I think they got that.
Anyway, I've seen the movie roughly 10 times (I think, although mostly the theatrical version, but also the extended version), I own it on Blu-ray and DVD, and there's no way I'm missing this in theaters. Just the experience alone will be worth it. Even if it's a let-down (and I don't think it will be), it'll be worth it. Something like this has never really happened, at least not for Dragon Ball. Hell, I'll probably see it at least twice. Why would you want to pass up an opportunity like this? Oh, if anyone's somewhere around Nebraska and wants to catch it together, just hit me up.

Yesh. For those of you in the Upstate/ Greenville area of South Carolina, Regal Hollywood 20 and Regal Simpsonville are going to be showing Battle Of Gods! Also, there is some vague listing for the Carmike Wynnsong 7 in the Spartanburg area!

There are four theaters across Vancouver showing "Battle of Gods", so you should be covered.JamesOwnz wrote:If they show it in Vancouver then yes.
As of right now it doesn't appear that they're showing "Battle of Gods" at the AMC Garden State 16, but that could change.Careless Saiyajin wrote:Hey so i am having trouble with this but i was wondering if battle of gods was coming to AMC GARDEN STATE PLAZA IN PARAMUS, NEW JERSEY. FYI, if you're gonna buy your ticket in advance through either MovieTickets or Fandango, I'd recommend Fandango since they charge $1.25 in convenience fees while MT charges $1.50. 25 cents is 25 cents!
At least that's what they're charging for my local theater.

Just thought, while know not a lot of cosplayers on here, if you did, would you be tempted to go to the movie in costume?
Re: How Many Plan to Watch "Battle of Gods" in Theaters?
wouldn't be the first time... I went to three Madoka Movies at the Alamo Drafthouses in my city dressed as Kyuubey with contracts (Movie 1), Kyousuke Kamijou with a violin and played a few songs (Movie 2), and Morning Rescue Worker with a cooler of Morning Rescue for everyone waiting in line before seating (Movie 3).Super Sonic wrote:Just thought, while know not a lot of cosplayers on here, if you did, would you be tempted to go to the movie in costume?
If I end up going to the one showing in Austin TX (lakeline alamo drafthouse) I will more than likely be Time Patrol Trunks if I get my haircut in time... otherwise I'll just be Mark Satan just as an excuse to wear a cape

Looks like a change of plans. Cinemark has picked it up, and it's gonna play in my town!

I guess I'm gonna pass on seeing this in the cinema, it isn't listed for my local theater after all.

The most I'll do is wear my DBZ t-shirt. It's from like 11 years ago lol, but it still fits!Super Sonic wrote:Just thought, while know not a lot of cosplayers on here, if you did, would you be tempted to go to the movie in costume?
I hope there are cosplayers in my area though. I remember there being a bunch of Batman/Joker/Bane/Scarecrow cosplayers when I went to the TDKR midnight premiere. Still the funnest theater experience I've ever had. I hope BoG can top it, being surrounded by fellow Dragon Ball fans.

Re: How Many Plan to Watch "Battle of Gods" in Theaters?
So, I've updated our theater map once again, this time getting everything else East of the Mississippi River and filling in some additions across the map. This brings us to a whopping total of 761 theaters in North America! As of right now this is probably the most complete, updated list of theaters (even compared to FUNi's) you'll find.
Also, when I went to compare my map to FUNi's map, I noticed that at some point in the last 24 hours a bunch of theaters that had been on their map yesterday have now been removed. I'm not sure if this was done by accident, by someone accidentally overwriting the newest map file with an older one when adding more theaters, or if some theaters are actually dropping the film. Honestly, the former sounds like the more logical option, especially considering California alone went from 94 theaters yesterday to 55 today, but I have reached out to FUNimation for some clarification. As of yet I haven't heard anything back, but there are now numerous states that have less showings than yesterday. Who knows, they may not even be aware that anything has changed. Quite the mystery...

Re: How Many Plan to Watch "Battle of Gods" in Theaters?
I had a brief conversation with FUNimation, and all they are really willing to admit is that they're aware of what's happening with the various theaters dropping off their map. Unfortunately they weren't willing to discuss the exact details, but if I had to guess, I'd say they prematurely added theaters before verifying any confirmation about specific theaters. However, I was told to expect an update to their theater list sometime this week with additional theaters. So we'll see what happens.
