Not to be a mini-mod but if you are linking to something, could you at least describe what it actually is before people click on it?

(For those who don't know, it's a preview clip of the dub recorded at Anime Expo.)

Given that that's one heck of a video in terms of length, anyone mind pointing out at what point the clip starts?

God, Boo's English voice is just the worst. I can't believe he hasn't changed or improved that at all.

Douglas doesn't sound threatening in the slightest in comparison to Yamadera during the key moments. That's a real shame. He's absolutely fine in the comedy sequences though, that's a plus! I really wish Liam O'Brien had been cast as Beerus. He has the perfect voice for that character.

It's funny, Sabat sounds even more different. It's so strange how his Vegeta is changing with every new iteration. I like it a lot though, he's becoming less harsh as Vegeta grows as a character. The 'My Bulma!' line was perfect in retaining the gruffness.

Schemmel's little clip seemed fine. Pretty much in line with reports from those who saw the film already.

Interested to see the full release.

Thanks! Yeah, it just started loading from the start of the video when I clicked it for some reason.

I still stand by Troy Baker being the best voice for Beerus if he used his Greedling voice from FMA Brotherhood personally - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWms2Pd02MI

Hmm, I dunno...I think Douglas sounds fine when Beerus is angry, but that's just it - he's just 'fine', rather than 'stellar' like he is during the comedy moments. So not a home run hit maybe, but I think I'll be pleased enough with his work in this movie. And as expected, Ian Sinclar sounds great as Whis.

I've honestly never had a problem with the way FUNi portrays Fat Boo. To me, it's really not all that different than the Japanese version. The voices couldn't be more different, but the portrayal itself is pretty similar.

Sabat totally NAILED the 'My Bulma' scene, woo-hoo! I had confidence he would, but still glad to hear for certain.

Hmm...I dunno why, but Vegeta's 'Why must you always destroy?!' complaint sounds really...whiney. What was the corresponding line in Japanese? Just something about that one line right there seems off somehow.

Wow, a part of me is surprised they played a clip that long, but another part of me (the entitled fan side) really wishes it had gone on just a BIT longer, so we could hear a bit of Sean's Super Saiyan God voice for Goku.

Holy shit! The English dub did better than the Jpn cast! . That actually destroyed the Original audio. Nice work Funimation. This truly was awesome and I don't like BoG. Hell just for the cast me and T can go see it. .

BTW did you guys hear that massive ovation Gohan and Gotens got. That was a huge ovation. Even louder than Vegeta getting pissed off. That's amazing. As a Goten and Gotens fanboy this makes me happy.

Not feeling it at all. He sounds far too young without that hint of nobility that Beerus has. Here's Liam O'Brian as Caius; I feel like he could easily warp that into something perfect for Beerus.

Schemmel just uses his normal Goku voice. Fornever world asked him how he did SSJG during a interview at the premier and Schemmel said he just uses his normal voice because Nazawa did. Its not the deep, gruff voice we heard in his one line from the English Battle of Z trailer.

Sabat's delivery on that one certainly didn't help. I thought I was watching a soap opera for a second.

He made up for it with a nice delivery of the "My Bulma" line. It was cute seeing the audience react so positively to that stuff and the movie's humor. They got a little carried away (Muten Roshi sending the gang into battle isn't supposed to be funny), but I'm glad they're enjoying the movie. The dub script seems pretty good.

I still can't decide whether or not I like Beerus and Whis' voices. One second they're great and then a second later they're not.

Is it me or is there a lot of silence here? I know I haven't seen Z with the original score, but it seems even more than Dragon Ball. It seems to at the level of The Path to Power, which I think had too much silence compared to the series and other movies.

Anyway, great dub here. :D

It definitely feels that way if you're used to watching the show in English.

Sabat says that they added some kind of effects for Goku's Super Saiyan God voice.
I think that we will understand exactly what he means by the time we watch the English Dub of Battle of Gods.

The Beerus and Buu pudding request is somehow funnier to me dubbed, as is the lead-up to the "PUDDING!" exclaimation; and I'm more of a subs fan.

Curious as to how the ssjg scenes sound in English. "Spectral" effect, huh? I guess to be more in line with how 'eerie huge red irises' and 'flame aura' offsets the otherwise cuteness of 'slim body, magenta-pink hair'.

*Will await dvd release*.

Well, I meant the music in particular. The silence in the original Dragon Ball was never awkward to me, but it kind of was in The Path to Power. The tracks being too quiet in the dub didn't exactly make it any better. Fortunately, the latter problem doesn't seem to be present here.

That was great! Chris Sabat nailed the power of love scene. I'm also digging Jason Douglas's portrayal of Beerus. I just wish they were showing it in the UK!.

Overall it seemed pretty average to me. No terrible performances, but nothing really great either. At least I feel good about going to see it in theaters.

Sums it up for me, though probably more so with Whis. Whis seems to fluctuate between "excellent" and "generic gay stereotype", which is a little unfortunate.

To be fair at least Whis is rather subdued and reserved. He's no Big Gay Al at least.

Sound great overall (the 'you shouldn't destroy' line did come of as old Z dub-esque, not enough where it'll bother me though)! More pumped than I was intially. Although I thought him yelling pudding didn't have the oomph Yamadera did and it seemed like they were trying to fit too many words into the animation. Then again, maybe it's because I've done a fandub of the part so many it's something I'd notice before most people judging.

I don't mind Roshi being goofed up in his 'Get him' line there (literally meaning more goofy, not that something was messed up there, Roshi is goofy about 90% of the series) Sabat's Vegeta is getting better and better as the years go on. He's been subtlely heading closer to a Horikawa tone/pitch. Kinda like with the trailer how Schemmel's Kamehameha in the first trailer, had a noticeable Nozawa influence.
