The audience cheering whenever a character popped up was very cringeworthy. Can't wait to see the full movie!

The dub sounds SO good! Also I laughed a lot more during that clip than I did watching the subbed version.

"You shall die with your honour intact." ha, favourite line.

The dub sounds pretty good. I am a little disappointed that Buu's voice hasn't been reworked a bit, but the pudding exchange between him and Beerus was hilarious. I think Whis sounds fine but I still can't make up my mind on whether I like Beerus' voice. I suppose I'll have to wait until August to make a definite decision. I agree with everyone that Mr. Sabat's "my Bulma" delivery was very good.

The dub sounds ok. The script is probably the best part of this, though. I'm a little disappointed Boo's voice wasn't tweaked. He sounded pretty bad there. Jason Douglas' Beerus was just...ok. He isn't very threatening, but his comedic timing is fine, but I dunno. Ian Sinclair's Whis fairs a little better though. It's deeper, but I love his delivery at points. I loved Sabat in that clip though. His Vegeta's changed a lot for the better, and he really nailed the "My Bulma" scene.

I'm disgustedly jealous of everyone who has heard the dub thus far and i am so impatiently excited to see this in theaters in august. You all whom have seen the movie with the english dub are the object of great envy.

So from watching that clip the English version is not the directors cut with extra footage then?
It didnt show Buu getting out of the water and fighting him some more.

Sadly, no. That's been known for a little while.

Did I miss something? Last I heard they were doing both versions.
You mean that they're not doing both? That would really suck if that were the case. :(

Some of that extra footage, like the redone scenes from the series, like Goku vs Vegeta... looked terrible. I won't miss it.

Theatrical version will be the standard cut, and the director's cut/extended edition will more than likely be the retail release, if anything as a further incentive to buy the product and make more money.

That clip was wonderful. Funimation is fantastic at scripts these days. With this, as with Kai, they've stayed true to the original while making everything sound awesome and quotable.

Completely agree about the scripts from Funimation nowadays. I'm not sure when it started, but I think just the quality of their writing has increased immensely over the past few years. I don't watch too many shows distributed by FUNi but I definitely noticed a difference in the quality in Kai and in the more recent One Piece episodes.

I laughed more with the dub than i ever did with the japanese original.
I guess when you can't rely on the sound (don't understand japanese) it kinda breaks the humor. Subs are useless for this kind of gags i'm afraid, it's more about the delivery and tone in my opinion.

I know FUNimation's dub of Fruits Basket back in 2003 and the original Fullmetal Alchemist dub were both pretty solid, but back then, I think it depended on the director. Especially considering what they did to Dragon Ball GT around the same time those came out... I remember talking with Kyle Hebert on the phone about that Rap OP for GT. We both agreed that was awful. I still cringe when I hear it today.

FUNimation has definitely been steadily improving ever since they first got into in-house dubbing, it just unfortunately went unnoticed by a lot of people because 1) they were so turned off by how bad the DBZ dub was at first that they never looked back, and 2) it wasn't an overnight thing and they still had a long way to go before they'd become as good as they are today.

Thanks for the link bud. Even though there's no point crying about it now, I still would have preferred tiffany vollmer as Bulma. :)
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

Their Attack on Titan script has been really poor. They keep fucking with the personalities of characters. They're just passing lines but they make such a difference, it's very distracting. Eren and Armin being the over-confident types in episode one? Really.

Their subtitles on their simulcast streams have been really poor too. I genuinely question the qualifications of the person working on Tokyo Ghoul. It's embarrassing.

They've improved dramatically with Dragon Ball but they're still making a mess of things elsewhere.

Theres Baccano at least, which for me remains their single best English dub they have ever done.

What's wrong with Tokyo Ghoul's subtitles?

I have a feeling I'm going to enjoy the dub this time more than the sub based on the fact that the humour translates much better when spoken vs reading it.
thomas1up are fuckin terrible and need to fuck off asap all the other noobs are decent thouhg
