If Toriyama's previous history with villains is anything to go by, Beerus and Whis will probably be involved somehow, but they'll probably be allies, or at least not antagonists. It just doesn't seem like Toriyama's style to revisit the same primary antagonist again - he's never done it apart from Piccolo Jr, and even then, he's technically not the same character. He brings up old concepts, such as The Red Ribbon Army or Freeza's remnant forces, but he always puts a very different spin on things.

Tenshinhan, Piccolo, Vegeta, #18, Mr Buu, Uub, Abo and Cado - the list goes on and on. It seems like Toriyama genuinely gets so attached to his villains that he has trouble writing them out completely.

You're most certainly right about Toriyama's former villains, he definitely loves Frieza, long ago he said Frieza is the one who really intimidates him too.

Would be interesting if picking up right after Battle of Gods, Goku - naturally intrigued to find out more of these Universes and Gods - sets out on a journey to find them. Not sure how it would all play out, but I'm sure King Kai would be able to point him in the right direction? Just a thought.

IMO, it'd be pretty cool if, after Goku left with Uub, that's where they went. And this movie was about them searching various realms.

The text is about the proportions of those battles and their epicness and not a realm.

Well, it could be both as "dimensions" can mean both, hence why I mentioned those things in the first place but from what I read it seems the scale is meant. Maybe I missed something.

I don't think toriyama could write for an ongoing series plus having the story across multiple movies will make a lot more $$$ then a series ever could and is a lot easire for toriyama to write for

For anyone that's interested in a thorough breakdown of the movie's tagline, you can check out the main site. I love when they do these wordplay things, but I also hate it, because it is usually always mistranslated elsewhere. Oh well, what ya gonna do...?

Not everything has to be a pun. What if it is an actual dimension battle? I personally would be very interested in the plots leading up to it. I'm willing to bet that North Kaio-sama is going to be more involved this time.

That's Yamamuro's work isn't it? Lately it seems to be improving again. It's more angular and less bubbly.

Personally, I like the animation from Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiyans more so than Movie 14. It's more detailed and less lazy. Aside from ki attacks, everything looks great.

As VegettoEX stated, it would have been written more literally and naturally if it's not a pun. To me, a native Japanese speaker, 神次元 sounds a little odd as a stand-alone word. Also, introducing a new (and confusing) in-universe word without any explanation in the first announcement is extremely unlikely. It doesn't make any sense.

This is almost becoming like the stupid denki-gama bullshit on DB Wiki.

Even the title Battle of Gods was deceiving, because I was expecting way more action.

It's not that the movie might not deliver what the tagline says.

It's that the tagline doesn't actually say what people who don't know Japanese said it said.

I'm loving Toriyama's renewed interest in the series. I can't say that I have liked all of the new information he's thrown out there, but I can just pick and choose what I want to accept. I'm honestly just happy he's showing some passion and pride for his work. Very excited to see what new developments come our way.

Well I suppose you could "pick and choose" what you want to accept, but him saying it makes it fact as far as DB goes. Some of us may not like some of the things he says, but that doesn't change their validity.

Eh, I just don't take it that seriously. Just because he says something doesn't make it the "be all, end all" for me. Many of the things he says contradicts what was said in the manga, but it isn't like they are going to be reprinting and changing the dialog. It's just as easy for me to ignore it as it is to accept it.
