Re: When will you guys stop buying DBZ home releases?
I have FUNi's Dragon Boxes for Z and the Japanese Dragon Boxes for everything else. Unless a release comes along that is actually superior to those, (Like if Toei were to commission a level-set style HD-remaster using their original 16mm negatives, with the Japanese credits and previews and everything, I would be all over that) I don't see myself buying any more DBZ home releases save for any future movies.

When they give the movies, Dragon Ball, Z, and GT the levels treatment with the movies in 16:9 of course. 4k would be nice but not needed and it may even be unnoticeable.
Canon is Jaco, Dragon Ball except for EoZ, Dragon Ball Super anime and manga (both are separate canons)

Z only?
I only have the US Dragon Box Z collection (1-7) and the Level Blu-rays (1 & 2), Rock the Dragon Edition and that's it (I lost interest in the Season BDs not too long after they were released). I don't need a bajillion releases of the same especially if they're not an improvement. Oh, I got the Singles for the Z films than the DFs because they all have Japanese credits and feels like the show, but I'd definitely be up for a US Dragon Box: The Movies.
If FUNimation brings back Z with a Level-remastering I'll be buying them all from day one.

FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray
Re: When will you guys stop buying DBZ home releases?
Well, I'll have to buy french Kai Blu-Rays now that they've been announced... (for all the 167 episodes).
After that if Toei puts out a decent Blu-Ray set of DB Z GT I'll get that, too, and probably whatever new stuff they get. So will I ever stop getting stuff? Not as long it's kept alive

Re: When will you guys stop buying DBZ home releases?
I've bought Madman's Dragon Ball Saga sets in two boxsets which I'm perfectly happy with and the US DBGT Singles, I'd only consider purchasing both series again if FUNimation released the Dragon Boxes subbed.
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray

I'm confused, do you mean the series in widescreen or just the movies?xmysticgohanx wrote:When they give the movies, Dragon Ball, Z, and GT the levels treatment with the movies in 16:9 of course. 4k would be nice but not needed and it may even be unnoticeable.
Also, I know the movies were made with widescreen in mind, but why the "of course"?

The only thing worth to me is the Japanese Dragon Boxes.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Re: When will you guys stop buying DBZ home releases?
Except for a few small things here and there (like an individual movie or something), I didn't even start until the Dragon Box got to the US. Before the Orange Bricks, DBZ was too expensive to collect for my tastes. Then, I thought the Orange Bricks looked horrible. I went ahead and bought the DBox and the Kai Blu-rays. Now, I'm sort of half-assing the new Blu-rays, but I don't see myself finishing that collection. I'd have probably bought the Level sets had FUNi continued them, but I would've started getting those sort of late because I had just finished buying the DBox when the Levels started showing up on shelves.
Oh, I did buy the Blur Bricks and for a time I had several of the old DB DVD sets. So, I guess there's that.
Going toward the future, I can see myself collecting the rest of Kai and I can see myself buying Battle of Gods. As for DB or DBZ, they'll have to go the route of some other Kanzenshuu-aimed niche release before I seriously start going after them again.
The manga, however, is an entirely different story. I'm going after the full-color volumes right now.

Re: When will you guys stop buying DBZ home releases?
I stopped after the season 2 blu ray. It was then did I realize that we are never gonna get a perfect release which made buying these blu rays and anything else in the future pointless. As for the manga, I'm perfectly fine with the VIZBIGS, I don't see myself ever getting any of the full color editions. And I quit caring for Kai a long time ago, so the Buu arc isn't a priority.

When I own:
- Dragon Ball + all four films
- Dragon Ball Z Episodes 200-291
- Dragon Ball Z films 5, 6, 12, 13
- Dragon Ball GT
- Battle of Gods

Re: When will you guys stop buying DBZ home releases?
I own:
Dragon Ball (via Blue Bricks and the 4 movies as well.)
Dragon Ball Z (via Dragon Boxes, own the Movie Sets FUNi put out. Japanese BoG release as well. Also the Bardock/Trunks Blu-ray)
Dragon Ball GT (All Episodes + Special via Green Bricks.)
Dragon Ball Z Kai (Parts 1-8, will buy FUNi's release of Buu)
So other than new movies like the FUNi release of BoG, I'm done. I'll get the Dragon Box versions of DB/GT, etc. if they come out. But, I'm content with the Blue/Green bricks. They're fullscreen and the 'remastering' isn't intrusive like the Orange Bricks. I just don't care enough anymore. Apathy is a good way to describe it. I own the whole series (barring a few things that are hard to get/Japanese only right now). I'm good for now.

I own the US Dragon Boxes. I am set. Now all FUNi needs to do is sell DB, GT, and movie Dragon Boxes and I am all set. Along with Battle of Gods, my collection will be good. I only own one DB Blue Brick and I own that complete series box set of GT, but DBox versions would be much better, in my opinion.

Re: When will you guys stop buying DBZ home releases?
I only bought the 4 seasons of Kai on Blu Ray. I hope they release the Buu saga as seasons instead of parts.
Re: When will you guys stop buying DBZ home releases?
I'm currently collecting the season blu ray sets. If a better Blu-Ray release comes out then I'll more than likely decide to start buying those instead. I do really want to get the Dragon Boxes but they are grossly overpriced for me to even consider collecting any of them.
Re: When will you guys stop buying DBZ home releases?
Never.
Honestly why stop now. I have all the Pioneer/Funimation singles for Z, all the Orange Bricks, all the Dragon Boxes (US), and currently 5 seasons of the new Blu-Ray (Unwatched)... and all of Kai on Blu-Ray.
Other:
Dragon Ball Collection 1 and 2 (All volumes in two big sets) (Also have all the individual covers if I ever want to split them up into 2 disc sets)
Dragon Ball GT Bricks and Dragon Ball GT Singles
DBZ Films Singles + Remastered Box Set

Re: When will you guys stop buying DBZ home releases?
Why would I need multiple copies of the exact same thing?...
Really the differences are hardly much at all in the long run. Just different box arts. (Which you can just look at the pictures on the internet or something...)
Got the 9 Orange Bricks and sticking with that.
(Also Faulconer biased)

I bought the singles, then sold them to buy the season sets. Then I sold those to buy the Dragon Boxes.
Here's what I own:

DBZ Kai Parts 1-8
DBZ Movies Singles (including the Ocean dub of movies 1-3)
DBZ Movies Steelbooks
DBZ Ocean dub singles
DBGT Singles
DBGT Seasons 1-2

Re: When will you guys stop buying DBZ home releases?
Once I have a good, consistent release of DB-Z-GT I'll stop. Dragon Box and Level set quality would both do just fine for picture, other than that I'd want dual audio (tri-audio for Z), subs, Japanese title cards and all the opening/closing songs and animations. I don't mind about NEPs. If the orange bricks weren't so shit, I'd probably settle for the season sets to be honest. Then just one release of Kai and the movies, which I already have.
