Yeah, I never recall hearing them call him that before. Don't know why they decided to combine the previous names they'd called him by but eh, whatever. Just excited to know that in two short days from now, I will have seen the movie

(the dubbed version, that is...already seen it in Japanese about 5 times).
As for the question of why Piccolo doesn't group Gokuu in with the pure-hearted, he probably sees him as being too prone to letting his Saiyan battle instincts overtake his common sense (see: when he assumed Gohan would be as eager to fight Cell as he was) to consider him "pure".

It's a shame he can't channel that kinda performance into the more serious scenes. He slips right back into old Goku as soon as things get tough.
Side note: It was weird hearing 'Shenron', I totally forgot they didn't use Shen Long in the dub.
I've always thought Schemmel has improved his performance as a serious Gokû, especially in Kai when he transformed into Super Saiyan. Can you expand upon why you think he tends to slip back to the old Gokû in a serious situation?

But shouldn't he have the former Kami's memories? I mean Goku can ride the Kinto'un and so can Goten and Gohan.

Maybe it was just playful rubbing since Piccolo has not always had the best relationship with Goku or Vegeta, and Trunks is most likely the bigger factor in how annoying Gotenks was.
This isn't
Death Note where every line of dialog has some hidden/literal meaning.

Is it just me or does Shenron sound pretty funny? It sounds too much like Piccolo to me and then it switches back to Shenron lol.

Yeah that was kinda weird to hear

He sounds too serious. Goku, at his most furious, never stops sounding like a giant kid. Schemmel sounds like a grown man, and that isn't Goku at all.

Then why does Toei animate Goku with serious facial expressions then?

What does that have to do with the nature and personality of the character? The facts are right there. Goku should not sound like an adult.

Though I've never really felt this way about Nozawa, I have to say that if you can't match the voice with the animation, the dissonance had better be intentional, or you're doing something wrong.

It would be pretty difficult for a grown man to not sound like a grown man when he's serious. The only way to change that would be to have a kid or a girl play adult Goku. And that would suck.

First I've heard it either. It's kind of funny, because "Eternal Dragon" was basically Funi's way of translating "Shenlong" into English (Shenlong="Divine Dragon", so they basically use "eternal" as a PC substitute for "divine"), which means "Eternal Shenron" combines a bit of the translation in with the untranslated name. A bit like...well, a bit like "senzu beans" really. Or "Kamehameha wave". Or "ATM machine" (OK, not exactly, but you get the idea).

I may have misinterpreted what Baggie_Saiyan was trying to say, or him I, but I wasn't saying that Goku is never angry or upset. I'm struggling to simplify it beyond "he doesn't sound like an adult." There's a childish petulance to him when he's screaming at someone. Schemmel vocally can't or refuses to match that, based on every instance I've heard. He sounds too sophisticated.

I like how they dubbed Son's dialogue here. It seems pretty accurate to him being displeased of the method to obtain the form, and he sounds rightfully irritated. Good work done here.

Jeez, why are these clips so damn inconsistent. That was absolutely awfully acted. Nothing to do with voices or characterisation - that was straight up crappy acting.
C'mon Mr. Director, you can't let that kinda thing slide.

My Kami, they'll show us SSG vs Beerus tomorrow. Why is showing the whole film a good marketing campaign?

I...don't see any problem with the acting at all.

It was so horrendously wooden.

Eurgh, horrible.
"And I...hate that"
It's so fucking bad, dude. Full on cringed listening to it.

Yeah, I'm not really hearing anything to complain about in the acting in this scene either...methinks your criteria for what qualifies as 'good acting' must be a
lot higher than my own, Ajay (and I don't mean that in a bad way - it just means I'm a little easier to please, so if anything, I'm the one with lower standards

).
