Little harsh. The first Raging Blast game is the only Dragon Ball fighting game that actually nails perfectly the Dragon Ball feel. Either it being with the graphics, the story mode, the soundtrack and the actual gameplay. Never got why Dimps gets so much praise at all. Budokai 3 was a very good game and all, but not very Dragon Ball-like.DonieZ wrote:Raging Blast is a bland series, let it die. The reason Spike decided to develop Ultimate Tenkaichi was because they ran out of ideas. Their sales bombed with Raging Blast 2 and they didn't know why, and they didn't know what more they could do. They glossed up the graphics, polished the game as much as they could, added plenty of characters including characters never before seen with a newly rendered anime. Yet it still failed, why asks Namco Bandai. If Spike had promising ideas they would've gone with a Raging Blast 3, but what more could they do, add GT and a hell load more characters, original story mode - but hey, wait a second, they're just rehashing exactly what they did with the Tenkaichi series. It's the same old sh** all over again. The only difference is, they tried to make the Raging Blast series a bit more solid than the Tenkaichi series, but problem with that is damn it it's boring. You couldn't play Tenkaichi 3 competitively with mechanics like Z counter, but honestly who's really playing these games for that reason? Oh well done, you can memorise every combo sequence and follow up in Raging Blast 2, congrats. The game has no character, no flare, it doesn't even feel like a DB game you seen the menu screen, you heard the tracks, and that darned galaxy mode is the worst offender. Honestly I've never felt so alone in a game before, I wanted to switch that crap off within 10 minutes of purchasing and playing it.
I'd rather see a Budokai Tenkaichi 4 than a Raging Blast 3. No seriously, I would prefer them to go back to developing games for the playstation 2, and looking forward to playing as bulma and the turtle. Let Raging Blast die.
In my opinion, of course.
