Is anyone planning to pick this up? Would love to know if the green tint is fixed.

No wonder anime doesn't sell in japan
How and why do they price these like this ? And who do they expect to buy these ?
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

As far as I'm aware, in terms of pricing, it has always been this way in Japan, and as a result, they have never known any different, so just get on with it.
With regards to this release, I really hope we see some footage uploaded soon, I'm keen to see if the "tint" has been removed.

I'll be picking it up seeing as this will be the only way to own this version on a home release. Not to mention I have all of the other Kai Blu-ray boxes, so I'll be getting it for completion's sake, as well.

The number of people who buy animation in Japan is going to be tiny either way. Unless it's a film no non-Otaku consumer is going to by an animated home video.
It's more profitable to sell these home videos at high prices, especially when the subject manner of the series is niche.

Already seen this on Amazon.jp and for those that don't know the DVD version of Kai 1-98 is widescreen so it's no surprise that Toei has finally went ahead and made the Blu-rays widescreen too.
I'm not bothered very much about the cropping since they do a proper job (unlike FUNimation cropping wrongly or too much) and the picture quality seems to be quite good (except for the greeny tint).

I like the green creeping up into the words "DRAGONBALL" and "KAI"; almost as if to mock us.
(This is a joke; I know the earlier
Kai sets had this design, but of all the colors to use...)

I was able to order it today. Looks like it should arrive on Monday. I'll confirm about the green tint.

I seriously doubt they have removed the green tint because there's nothing commercially harmful for them to leave it as-is.

nobody will comment how incredibly emotional the text below "Dragon ball kai" is? XD

It's the same text that has appeared on every Kai box set, and on top of that, it's taken directly from the Japanese Dragon Boxes.

Never set my gaze upon either kai box sets or japanese dragon boxes before :3

I just received my box in the mail and when I popped it in, the first thing I noticed was that the colors are beautiful. From what I've seen, the green tint appears to be nonexistent on the home release. I don't have a computer that reads Blu-rays so I'm not sure how to take a screenshot other than just snapping a shot of my TV.

No need for screenshots,We believe you and thanks a lot for the info.
How does it look compared to the rest of Kai ?

Thanks for the info, but honestly I won't believe it until I see some raw screencaps. That can be just because of the color setup of your TV.

If it's any consolation, I watched the raw Fuji TV episodes on the same TV and the green tint was ever present.

Still a bit of a downgrade from Q-Tec's remastering, but a heck of a lot better than the TV broadcast. Switching from one phase of
Kai to the other isn't nearly as jarring anymore. The only irksome thing now is going from 4x3 to 16x9, but I'll get over it.

The "raw" that could have been tweaked by a ripping team, right? Anyway, forgive me for being skeptic. I'm always so.

I watch Kai in 16:9 so it's not a problem for me but it would be nice to have an option for 4:3 which i think we will from Funi but the main thing is that they fixed the picture quality by removing that tint.
