At the bottom of the page when Treevax talked about Baba - San("Tales of" producer) saying he wanted to make a Destiny-Like DB game, I literally almost fell out of my chair. That is the game I've literally been dreaming of since I started playing DBZ games and I think Xenoverse is the first step in that direction.
A Console MMO style DB Universe game would be amazing. At least the conversation has been sparked; that's a start.

There is data implying Broli in the game's demo/beta/test.THEGOKU wrote:Wow this will be the first game in years to not feature Broly but how can the specials not be in when Bardock is ?![]()
We might not be getting actual characters from the movies and specials, but he's practically a staple character now with how popular he is in Japan and the US (though for very different reasons).

They didn't say Broly won't be in. They said you can't play his story.

Yeah, I really can't get behind that either. Destiny had one of the worst stories in FPS or MMO history. It was terribly lazy. And the multiplayer itself gets very boring very quickly. It was just an immensely underwhelming game in every aspect as far as FPS's or MMO's go. And don't even get me started on DLC...dbboxkaifan wrote:He did not just say that.. -.-" That's just awful.dualist wrote:At the bottom of the page when Treevax talked about Baba - San("Tales of" producer) saying he wanted to make a Destiny-Like DB game, I literally almost fell out of my chair. Honestly I'm not bothered that the specials or movies won't be included in Dragon Ball Xeonverse's story mode. Most of the movie and specials that were featured in Dragon Ball games prior to this were poorly shoehorned in because pretty much all of the movies and specials featured some aspects which wreck the continuity of the original story.

I'm kind of surprised that we don't play through the movie storylines in the game's main story too, since it seems obvious enough that some characters from them are going to be there. That also raises the question about GT, which we know has some representation, and Battle of Gods since that's almost guaranteed to be there too. Will characters from those just be playable but not in the story too?

SSJ4 Goku and Vegeta are in but GT isn't part of the storyline. So yea.

You two were missing the point, when I said happy about Destiny like game, I was talking about an MMO based on the Dragonball universe. I haven't even played Destiny, and I think the producer who made the comment only referenced Destiny because it's the most recent and popular console MMO, I don't think he was saying to make Destiny and just use dragonball characters. You mean to tell me that you wouldn't play an open world dragon ball adventure/mmorpg game?

What rating do you guys expect the game to get on sites like Gamespot and IGN. My guess is anywhere between 5/10 - 8/10. 8/10 would be very lucky and I don't see the game getting anything higher then a 7/10. The lowest I think the game will get is a 5/10, but I have hopes that the game will get good word of mouth unlike the RB games, Ultimate Tenkachi and Battle of Z.

Burst Limit is the last DBZ game as of 2014 that got good reviews as it holds 72/100 on Meta Critic. Everything from Infinite World and now has been bad or mixed:
Infinite World (2008): 48/100
Raging Blast (2009): 56/100
Raging Blast 2 (2010): 60/100
Ultimate Tenkaichi (2011): 55/100
Dragon Ball Z for Kinect (2012): 49/100
Battle of Z (2014): 54/100

Those games deserved those Ratings, although I thought that RB2 probably deserved at least a 70. This game is a lot different though. It has depth, longevity, and lots of options. I don't see it getting any lower than a 7 from most sites.Hellspawn28 wrote:Burst Limit is the last DBZ game as of 2014 that got good reviews as it holds 72/100 on Meta Critic. RB2 in my opinion deserves a 75, 80 max.

I can see that, I definitely had fun with it. But the only real differences between characters was visual. Everyone basically fought the same with maybe some smaller characters being slightly faster than others. That's why I would say 70.SSJ God Gogeta wrote:RB2 in my opinion deserves a 75, 80 max.
However, I had a lot of fun battling other players online and customizing characters based on strength in the show. For example, I didn't give any other weaker characters health capsules, and the strongest characters received large health capsules to make it a little more true to the manga/show.
I enjoyed BoZ too for what it was, but the replay value is very minimal. It was very similar to DBZ legends which I loved, the problem was that Legends came out decades ago.

I like to think myself as a decent game reviewer (heres a link to my Battle of Z review http://www.capsulecomputers.com.au/2014 ... -z-review/). For those that don't wish to click the link I gave it a 7/10 which I felt was fair. I normally see myself as a pretty harsh reviewer with fun being one of the main reasons I will score high. Those meta critic reviews seem a bit low in my eyes, especially infinite world. Ultimate Tenkaichi should be no more than a 5 and Kinect was literally a watered down UT with shoddy controls, I wouldn't have given that game anything higher than 2.5. To see Battle of Z rate lower than UT is baffling to me.
Based on the Beta gameplay alone I am already putting this game down as at least a 5, keeping in mind graphical improvements are likely and pretty much all the audio needs to be added along with the story and missions.

How in the hell did Dragon Ball Z for Kinect score higher than Infinite World? That is just ridiculous. Dragon Ball Z for Kinect was so gimmicky and half the time didn't even work properly. I mean Infinite World was rehashed but at least it was tolerable experience, when the AI allowed it to be. But I think the the most baffling thing is Ultimate Tenkaichi scoring higher than Battle Of Z and only being one pint off from getting the same score as Raging Blast 1. Raging Blast 1 was an okay game; it wasn't great but it was decent. The mini games and additional game mode were also quite a good addition The only thing Battle Of Z had going for it was the whole 4v4 team battle gimmick, but it handled it alright. Ultimate Tenkaichi had nothing going for it apart from the create-a-character gimmick. Which itself turned out to be barebones. And the combat mechanic for that game were so freakin lazy. Quick time events? Really, Spike?Hellspawn28 wrote:Burst Limit is the last DBZ game as of 2014 that got good reviews as it holds 72/100 on Meta Critic. Here is how the games should have ranked in my opinion:
Infinite World (2008): 65/100
Raging Blast (2009): 70/100
Raging Blast 2 (2010): 75/100
Ultimate Tenkaichi (2011): 25/100

Battle of Z (2014): 60/100
Oh and our good friend Treevax had an interview with Masayuki Hirano about Xenoverse. Here is the key points from that interview:
- Hirano-san did not explicitly say there would be any additional Dragon Ball GT characters aside from Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta and Goku, but the way he worded his answer leaves the door open for others
- Kid Goku and King Piccolo are not planned because they can’t fly. In Xenoverse, one of the goals was to allow players to enjoy the experience of flying. Dimps is currently deciding how to handle the playable character Hercule/Mr.Satan
- There have been a lot of requests for beam struggles. In the network test and event demos of Xenoverse when two beams collide, the more powerful beam wins. If they are equal in power, they cancel each other out.
- Data from the network test will not carry over to the final version of the game
- PS3 players will not be able to play PS4 players online
- The music used in the network test is not definitive of the final version. They speculated Kenji Yamamoto from Nintendo’s Metroid series will not be the composer.
- The mystery character from a few months back will be important to Xenoverse, however, their identity and role have not yet been revealed.
I'm not gonna lose sleep if they're aren't a lot Dragon Ball or GT characters aren't in the game. I just want Dimps to first foremost make this a good fighting game that is presented very well as supposed to focusing on fan service. Something the Tenkachi series suffered from greatly.
For more info, check out the video of the interview here

Personally, I think the Kinects game should be much lower. Just looking by at a video of gameplay it's so repetitive and lazy. Plus the motion movements make the players look faggish.dualist wrote:Those games deserved those Ratings, although I thought that RB2 probably deserved at least a 70.
