So the title AND the plot was influenced by the song?kei17 wrote:I've finished my work and now here's the details:

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
Yeah, along with my sarcasm earlier, I think I'm fine with pretty much anything Toriyama decides to do here in regards to Freeza transformations/power ups. Just as long as it doesn't turn out that he was holding back during the fight on Namek, which doesn't seem to be the case.
I also wouldn't really like if Freeza turned out to have a body while in Hell in Toriyama's version of the Dragon World, but I could tolerate that more than him holding back in the previous fight. Nothing seems to be implying either of these options though, so I'm just going to continue to trust Toriyama for the time being.

So this part basically confirms the points I made in my earlier post.kei17 wrote:I've finished my work and now here's the details:

I knew he was listening to the lyrics: "Godly Transfiguration" is obviously a plot point (and is not as it all seems).
The Ginyu Force might have something to do with the plot since they are in the song....?

I better go with the explanation that if someone doesn't get reincarnated soon enough that if he gets resurrected, becomes a God, better than Frieza had a possiblity to train in Hell. So in that way Yema will learn of the case and will change the rules and make the bad and really powerful guys who are in Hell to get reincarnated as soon as possible.

So he doesn't get brought back as-is.
I'd be ok with Freeza being the reality-warper, but it wouldn't be ideal.
I'm curious about it not mentioning any of the other characters. I want to know what his new powers are and what he does with them.
I see the word saiyajin lower on the page. What's that referring to?
EDIT: Went and translated that line and the one below it. Got:

I'd be interested in knowing how people would react about the exact same story just from Studio Toei.

If Freeza becomes immortal then they could defeated him by using the Mafuba on him. If he does get new forms then I would like to see what they can come up with his 5th form. Coola does not exist in Toriyama's world then he should have a original design for his 5th form.

Then I'd fear boring plot revelations and/or poor characterisations for everyone. I would feel that way, particularly with the latter. But hey, this isn't the 90's anymore, so more faith in the writers would probably be given (depending on who they would be, of course). Though, I'm not sure the general reaction to Watanabe's original BoG script was all that great.Cetra wrote:I'd be interested in knowing how people would react about the exact same story just from Studio Toei.

I'm not entirely sure it would have been the right direction for Dragon Ball to go, but I'm more then curious about the actual details of his version than just what we've have from the interview summaries (as well as the designs of Beerus and Super Saiyan God for it).Ryuman wrote:Though, I'm not sure the general reaction to Watanabe's original BoG script was all that great.

I know Saiyan God was originally going to have a cape, but what was Beerus originally going to look like?TheDevilsCorpse wrote:I'm not entirely sure it would have been the right direction for Dragon Ball to go, but I'm more then curious about the actual details of his version than just what we've have from the interview summaries (as well as the designs of Beerus and Super Saiyan God for it).Ryuman wrote:Though, I'm not sure the general reaction to Watanabe's original BoG script was all that great.

Godku was supposed to be buff, with a cape and hair between SS3 and SS4. Beerus was supposed to be a lizard.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:I know Saiyan God was originally going to have a cape, but what was Beerus originally going to look like?

What? The entire premise of the Namek and Saiyan arcs were the villains trying to get immortality.goku the krump dancer wrote:I knew it was gonna be more to it.. But Last I checked Dragons couldn't make someone stronger than they naturally are.. Or atleast Porunga couldn't.
Thanks Kei.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
Making so that somebody can't die (kind of a constant revival wish) is very different from making someone that is already way stronger than the creator of the Dragon Balls MUCH stronger.
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread
I will be extremely pissed if Freeza's transformation isn't just a Godly Ki power-up.
Could work, I guess.

Toriyama's friend couldn't have picked a better time to give him the song.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.
