Does anyone remember where on tv the first BOG trailer proper aired on tv in Japan?
I want to say it was during OP Sunday morning.
Trying to guess a time for 「F」's first one.

Just wondering, we're a week away from the time of year when the first real trailer appears, typically.

I'm also very eager for the first trailer, maybe I will be surprised.

I already saw someone posting a fake trailer on Facebook. You click play and it's like an actual image within the video that says "Video Removed". Lol

Fuji TV aired it on Friday or Saturday morning 07 December 2012.

Still surprised they haven't named the character designer yet, but judging from the poster they probably gave Yamamuro both jobs for whatever reason (is it really cheaper this way?).

I really wanted a new character designer.

No, it's not cheaper. The character designer for a television series makes even more money than the series director, though I doubt it's different for a film given the character designer typically acts as the chief animation supervisor. The chief animation supervisor is typically more on-hands with the key animators (unless the director himself is a talented animator). We know Yamamuro is creating new character designs for the main characters, so I can't imagine this was a case of Yamamuro needing to save time by reusing his old designs. My guess is that he asked to direct the film or was asked to by request of Toriyama...or Morishita Kouzou.

This is Yamamuro's first directing gig, so I can't imagine he was brought on to 'save money' so much as because nobody else would want to direct a movie on the budget and production schedule this movie is going to have.

I really hope Pilaf isn't going to be in this one. I have no idea what Toriyama was thinking when he decided to bring him back, out of everything that was the movies biggest downfall. Was it part of being a reunion movie or to appeal to the little kids or something?

Now that this is the second movie I'm hoping they'll get out of the nostalgia mode to have a greater focus on the story with a smaller crop of characters who do and say more.

They are one of those DB characters we didn't saw again but same as Pilaf, are present somewhere in DB World.

Well that was a very random (and incorrect) assumption. Battle of Gods was far better than Movies 1-13 so no I don't want it to return to that. What I want is for them to not bring back old shitty characters from the past only to then make them even shittier and take up a good portion of the film with complete nonsense that could have otherwise been spent developing the story or giving some actual good characters more than one line.

Maybe it was better than having randoms but that entire subplot was unbelievably lame and should definitely have been cut and replaced with something worthwhile.

Blame Toriyama then for giving the Pilaf gang more personality than Tienshinhan and Yamcha then. I found those 3 far more funny and interesting than characters who became utterly irrelevant by Namek.

The Pilaf Gang were great in Battle of Gods and I have no problem with them making further appearances in upcoming movies (though they might not fit in a movie going for a more dramatic tone). They're pretty much Dragon Ball's Team Rocket.

By the way, I like Goku and Vegeta's new attires, but what is that symbol that Goku has, is he training with Birus now? Anyways, I assume that this movie takes place after BOG judging by Birus and Whis in the image...I Forgot to mention, why does Frieza have a SSJ God aura?

I would imagine Tao Pai Pai and Vodka are likely dead for good. Either he died from Super Buu's attack or he died when Kid Buu blew up the Earth. He was more evil then #17 and Pilaf since he killed more people then any of those two have in their life time. Vegeta said bring back everyone expect for the really evil ones. I think Tao would be consider to be really evil. If the gun men that made Buu angry for almost killing Mr. Satan never came back then I would imagine Tao and Vodka never been brought back.

More personality isn't a good thing if he's just an annoying, unfunny, childish character who draws turds on the wall. Tienshinhan may not be the most exciting or interesting character but at least he isn't going to let the movie down. Someone like Pilaf got that much screen on a completely unimportant subplot while a fan favourite like Piccolo didn't do squat.

They're pretty much Dragon Ball's Team Rocket.

That's actually an excellent comparison. Team Rocket were also annoying and shitty characters who let down the entire show so where even worse really. Thankfully Pilaf was never a heavily recurring character.

That's so sad; like it's being neglected solely because Toei didn't want to give it more production time.
Believable and disheartening.

Well, I still enjoyed BOG despite its sometimes-questionable animation choices (cgi Capsule Corp and cgi bits of the Gokû vs Beerus fight why. T_T ) so I can deal with it, even though I would like higher quality animation/character models.
