I agree that perhaps being transmutated before may be a good defense...though how would he keep his abilities as candy? Vegetto kept his power, but none of his abilities.Kamiccolo9 wrote:They're not basing it off pure power, though. Apparently being turned into yarn or split may mean the candy beam won't be one hit. Kinda call bullshit as the reason Vegetto wasn't stopped was because of the kaioshin earrings, not because of power. Also Kirby needs a shield if he wants to survive Boo's absorption, but he'd have to know to do that right away which is iffy.
Honestly, aside from the use of filler (which is their prerogative, I suppose,) I'm not really seeing an issue with this fight.

I figure they'll just play it off as literally turning his body into candy. Like, he'll still be Kirby-shaped, just made out of solid candy. That's how the yarn game did it.dbzfan7 wrote:I agree that perhaps being transmutated before may be a good defense...though how would he keep his abilities as candy? Most he could do as Candy is move fast...that's it. If he's candy he gets no inhale or any of his other moves. Vegetto didn't so neither would he. Also they said without warp star kirby is slower. Also was it Boo who turned Vegetto into a jaw breaker or did that happen by accident? Couldn't he be turned into a cookie which isn't as durable? Though Kirby can theoretically shoot the beam back or transform into a Kirby Boo if that makes sense from a piece of Boo.Kamiccolo9 wrote:I figure they'll just play it off as literally turning his body into candy. Vegetto isn't Kirby, though. When Kirby got transmutated, he stayed himself, just made out of whatever he was changed into.dbzfan7 wrote:Most he could do as Candy is move fast...that's it. Not sure about the durability thing. I mean, surely Buu could have made himself harder than a jawbreaker? He's taken punches from people who could punch holes in mountains, yet a jawbreaker could go straight through him? Weird.

Well he can't use his copy powers as candy. He can only use the warp star. He can't use things like the hypernova, sword, or any moves if he's candy. Most he can do is attack and be hard to hit perhaps.Kamiccolo9 wrote:Vegetto isn't Kirby, though. Perhaps. I don't claim to know enough about Kirby to say otherwise.dbzfan7 wrote: Well he can't use his copy powers as candy. He can only use the warp star. He can't use things like the hypernova, sword, or any moves if he's candy. Most he can do is attack and be hard to hit perhaps.

I'm just going by if his previous experiences as yarn and being split into 4 will save him from being a helpless piece of candy, then logically he shouldn't have his moves beyond his basic abilities. Though he has ways of avoiding it and reflecting the move back.Kamiccolo9 wrote:Perhaps. Really, can you show him destroying something like a star? I guess no. So anything close to busting planets (which he did hundreds of times) seems plausible. I don't know if he can even destroy Kaioshin's planet, maybe Beerus can.rereboy wrote:Plausible when Saiyan arc Vegeta is stated to be capable of destroying Earth and when we have first form Freeza casually destroying a planet with 10 times Earth's gravity. Re: DEATH BATTLE: Majin Boo vs Kirby!
I think Death Battle based things on feats alone then power scaling. Power scaling can be a total mess by using ABC logic. Not to mention it's the most realistic way to do a presentation on a character. If you had to a college paper on Majin Buu then how would you explain on how strong he is to someone who never seen the series. I mean saying "Stronger then Character A" does not always work when that person has no idea what you are talking about. That's why Screw Attack power scaled on Goku's Snake Way feat since it's his best speed feat that he has without using ABC logic.GS7X7 wrote:Freeza can blow up a planet while chilling on a flying space throne with barely any effort or strain while in his weakest form. That logic doesn't work on Dragon Ball. We have to use power scaling. That is quite literally how Dragon Ball tells how strong or how fast things are, instead of giving us actual numbers. Its pretty much always A > B. If we don't follow that system, then Goku's best strength feat is probably training with 40 tons on his limbs while flying and in SSJ form and there are TONS of characters in other franchises with much more impressive physical feats who are nowhere near planet busting capability, making the conclusions erroneous.Hellspawn28 wrote:I think Death Battle based things on feats alone then power scaling. Re: DEATH BATTLE: Majin Boo vs Kirby!
Why not to look what the character actually does in his franchise? Power scalling works within the story, but not necesseraly out of it. It is not like all the franchises have decided what is consistent between them. 40 tons was pretty much Goku's limit when he was in the air without using Super Saiyan and right before enterring the 25th Tenkaichi Budokai.
Re: DEATH BATTLE: Majin Boo vs Kirby!
Because without power scaling we have Goku in chapter 1 trowing a 1 ton car around and then we have him struggling with just 40 tons while flying and requiring SSJ.Hugo Boss wrote:Why not to look what the character actually does in his franchise? Because of the power scaling that we know happened in the series thanks to the A > B comparisons and some outliners like being able to destroy a planet, we know how ridiculous is to think that Goku only got about 40 or 50 times stronger until the Buu saga.
Dragon Ball seriously lacks those kind of physical feats and the ones that are there are very inconsistent. Power scaling in Dragon Ball actually ends up being more reliable and logical than the few measurable physical feats that happen.

I'm don't know much about these things, but do we know that the car in chapter one was 1 ton? We are talking about a fictional universe with futuristic technology after all.rereboy wrote:Because without power scaling we have Goku in chapter 1 trowing a 1 ton car around and then we have him struggling with just 40 tons while flying and requiring SSJ.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.
Re: DEATH BATTLE: Majin Boo vs Kirby!
For my point, it doesn't matter, because even if it weighted just 1/10 of a ton (100Kg) it would still be ridiculous to think that Goku only got 400 or 500 times stronger until the Buu saga. Not to mention that during his training with Roshi he successfully pushed rocks that, given their size, would probably exceed 100 tons in real life.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:I'm don't know much about these things, but do we know that the car in chapter one was 1 ton? Anyway, the car that Bulma drove, if my memory is correct, is modeled after a real car which weights around 1 ton. Hence the 1 ton. I believe it was Renault 5 turbo:
It weights 970 kg.
Re: DEATH BATTLE: Majin Boo vs Kirby!
Maybe powerlevels don't correlate with real scale. Not to mention we could factor a few things in Goku's benefit, like the amount of ki he was using to fly and how much time he had expended in that training. If you give a senzu bean to Goku, maybe he could even lift a lot more, maybe not. And pushing a rock is lot easier, no? If Dragon Ball has inconsistent feats I wouldn't think it is a good idea to match characters between it and Saint Seiya for example.rereboy wrote:Because without power scaling we have Goku in chapter 1 trowing a 1 ton car around and then we have him struggling with just 40 tons while flying and requiring SSJ.

Re: DEATH BATTLE: Majin Boo vs Kirby!
Saint Seiya is even worse because it even shows less of what they talk about. They basically just talk about capabilities. If you just looked at actual physical feats in that series, without caring about power statements and power scaling, it would be even worse than Dragon Ball, I believe.Hugo Boss wrote:Maybe powerlevels don't correlate with real scale. Anyway, my point was just that power scaling ends up being a better method for Dragon Ball than looking just at feats.

It's likely only Fat Buu will be used here. What context would the other forms have exactly?
Either way, it doesn't matter. Buu will definitely win even without his other forms.
