Yeah, this is pretty much all that file name means. Notice that Kuririn is 'Klilyn' too. I'm surprised Vegeta isn't 'Bejita'! No need to read anything more into it.Blade wrote:The 'b' and 'v' sound are interchangable, so as a phonetic romanisation 'virus' isn't absurd from a Japanese language perspective - and that's important to remember, this is a Japanese website.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
Now I'm not an expert on animation or anything but I do have a question I'd appreciate if someone can shine some light on. Of all the content we've got from DBZ over the last few years, whether that be new Kai or game openings or the specials, the animation in the 'Ultimate Tenkaichi' opening really stands out to me.
I'm not sure what exactly it is about it. Perhaps it reminds me more of the older style. I loved the Super Saiyan Auras in that opening too. So my question was what are the chances of us getting animation like this for 'Fukkatsu no F'. Is the main animator likely to be working on the film, or not? Is it something that's still very much up in the air?
Just wondering really.

The Opening you speak of is directed and storyboarded by Nagamine Tatsuya. Nagamine is the series director of Happiness Charge PreCure! as of this post. Nagamine is a good action director and this Opening is definitely one of his best storyboards.BlackCatScott wrote:Now I'm not an expert on animation or anything but I do have a question I'd appreciate if someone can shine some light on. The animation itself is so good because Nagamine recruited quite a few talented key animators and allowed them to do what they do best. The key animators are responsible for translating the storyboard into layouts (rough images that show the relationship between the characters and moving objects and their environment), from there they do their key animation drawings that you actually see in the finished product. In the Japanese animation industry key animators handle the layouts and the timing of their cuts (the animation equivalent of a 'shot' in live action). In essence, the key animator (especially if they are trusted by the director and animation supervisor) is the 'director' of their shot. Remember the shot of Super Saiyan Gokuu fighting Freeza? That was Shida Naotoshi, an animator who has been with the series since it first began. Shida is perhaps the most trusted in-house animator at Toei Animation. If you study his work from recent years you will find that no matter the series you can always feel that a segment he did is 'his'. This is something that makes the higher budget works so much fun: there's enough money for more in-between cels, so there's more opportunity for a talented key animator to play around.
Another part of what makes this Opening so good is the timing. That's part of any good animator's personality, a strong sense of timing helps an animator conserve in-between drawings so that you don't necessarily need a thousand drawings per minute. The key animators for the Opening are not separated in the credits from the key animators for the rest of the game's cut scenes but I do believe these of the key animators who worked on the Opening.
Ootsuka Ken (0:59~1:05)
Wada Takaaki
Tate Naoki (0:17~0:30)
Kawamura Atsuko
Kurita Shin’ichi (1:41~End)
Shida Naotoshi (1:07~1:13)
Oonishi Ryou (0:52~0:58)
Satou Masayuki
Yamamuro Tadayoshi was animation supervisor and character designer, as he has been for all recent Dragon Ball works barring Toriko Episode #99 and One Piece Episode #590. Nagamine might have specified that Yamamuro not scrub out and of the key animators' personalities, as each animator has their own way of drawing characters.
Of the above animators only Shida Naotoshi worked on Kami to Kami. Shida often tweets about what his current projects are but as of late he has not spoken of what he is working on. Shida tweeted when he began and ended work on Kami to Kami in November 2012. There's been no indication about whether he is working on Fukkatsu no F yet, though. Wada Takaaki might be able to squeeze onto the film if asked but the others are definitely all busy working on other projects.

This may not seem like a big thing, but in the movie poster, Goku looked like he is wearing a different gi. Anyone else noticed that? Or did he just decide to do away with the blue shirt?
Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
Yeah, loads of people noticed back when the poster was revealed. That was probably a good 30 pages or so back now though!smantooth6 wrote:This may not seem like a big thing, but in the movie poster, Goku looked like he is wearing a different gi. It would appear to be totally new just going by the symbol and what was depicted in some promotional toys for the film. Vegeta also has a new outfit. New armour design as well a (zip up?) top and strange looking leg flap things.
Then there's Gohan but uh...we don't talk about he looks.

I still wish we'd have gotten a figure of Gokû in his sweatsuit. I like the gym clothes. X3
Gohan's hair style and eyes are the parts that have me curious.
That website movie summary update/trailer can't come soon enough. @_@

Since it's almost December, can we expect a trailer soon? I remember the trailer for Battle of Gods came out in December 2012.

There's no real answer to that. One will come when it comes. I would suspect there to be a trailer soon, though, if only because December is a good time to start promoting a film set to come out five months later.Hellspawn28 wrote:Since it's almost December, can we expect a trailer soon? This movie is coming out a bit later than BoG came out, so I expect everything to be shifted back a bit to accomodate.Hellspawn28 wrote:Since it's almost December, can we expect a trailer soon? I remember the trailer for Battle of Gods came out in December 2012.

Gohan's hair in that poster reminded me of that haircut he got for Namek.
By the way, sorry for being so slow with that little detail. I probably should follow the threads more often.

I wonder if there's a method of pinning a running-summary post to the top of each page in order to cut down on redunancy and repetition...

They've kept up with everything so far, but they might not be able to cover some of the more minor stuff once things start really getting crazy. Everything major's been hit so far though.

Re: Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Fukkatsu no F"
Well I really appreciate the in depth response. Thanks for that, very interesting stuff, I look forward to finding out more. I would like to see it improved again for Fukkatsu no F if possible and if it can be anything like the Ultimate Tenkaichi opening I'd be over the moon. Hopefully the success of BOG means we get the best possible animation.JulieYBM wrote:The Opening you speak of is directed and storyboarded by Nagamine Tatsuya. Or it means that they think "hey, it'll sell no matter what, let's be cheap about it!" (because that's how Toei thinks)BlackCatScott wrote:Hopefully the success of BOG means we get the best possible animation.
