I don't see anything wrong with this. I'm of the mind that maybe Yamamuro's art just does not translate to digital well. I think ALL the art looked better when it was cel animation, it looked more real. The animation in all digital dbz just looks off to me and always has. The air-brushed ki effects and such looked better I think in the old anime then their digital counterparts too.AjayLikesGaming wrote:Yeah, the art isn't great (especially compared to his 'golden age' work for the show). I'm still excited though. Battle of Gods wasn't great looking bar one scene and that was still thoroughly entertaining.
I'd be interested to hear the opinions of the explicitly anti-Yamamuro fans in this thread (in particular, JulieYBM and Kei17) regarding this shot:
I'm totally with you guys on the whole but I'm struggling to find something I actively dislike about this besides his nose and slightly wide face.
This isn't a challenge at all, I'm just genuinely curious as to whether there's anything I'm not picking up on.
I think this holds some weight, because the movie poster looks a lot better then the animation. I know that was probably colored digitally and what not, but it's a different method then the way they'd animate the film.
Also, budget probably dictates animation quality too.
REGARDING THE ACTUAL TRAILER!! ...
I don't have much of an opinion. It looks cool, but I don't see anything all that interesting from a story pov. More of the same.
