I do see a small improvement in key animation, particularly lineart work. I'm a bit more impressed at it, since they may have been rushed to get animation done for the trailer. I wonder if this is because Tadayoshi Yamamuro figures out how to handle pressure this time around? Could it be because of him asking the producers to help him recruiting some talents for this film? Hmm...

I do hope that director Yamamuro lets the talented key animators do storyboard themselves to create some wonderful cuts.

I do wish they'd draw him with a bit more ferocity. Though, I guess them not doing so is meant to be the point. You know, character development and all that.

This may have been discussed already but seeing as though both Goku and Vegeta have that new swirly symbol on their new duds I think it heavily implies that they're being trained by Whis.

I'm really hoping for some fun time Gokû and Vegeta interaction in this movie. They look like they're actually going to be sharing the storyline here unlike BOG where they mostly took turns. Their back-and-forths are so much fun to watch. :3

I have a feeling Whis is going to lock Vegeta and Goku's SS forms if he is indeed training them, which'll make sense because they rely on the forms too much and maybe letting Beerus give Freeza the power up is part of the training? Until it turns out to be a big mistake.

I don't think the animation or anything looks bad.. it just seems weird when you compare it to something from 20+ years ago.

Though I will see.. that one shot in the trailer of Beerus firing that blast did look real bad.

People have been spreading rumors that Gine, Goku's canon Mother from DBMinus will make an appearance in this movie. I can only see her appearing in a flashback if Whis explains to Goku's his past life on Planet Vegeta and how he was sent to Earth. Through his all-seeing-rod of course.

All seeing God? Whis to be one? No. He did not know about the SSJ-God, I'd say he can see everything but he doesn't seem to watch over every events in the universe.

I honestly wouldn't mind if we got some Jaco/DB- material animated in a brief flashback or whatever. They don't need to force it in there, but if it can work organically to the story? I say go for it. Battle of Gods worked off Jaco's timeline for planet Vegeta's destruction and this film is obviously about Freeza, the one who destroyed said planet. So it's not like any of it would really be out of place if the decided to include a bit of it. Pretty much any of the content they could think about including could easily be relevant.

There's no doubt that Toriyama has returned to the story. That's true. But I wouldn't mind if he will come up with more original ideas other than Freeza to come back, has his revenge against Saiyans and ends up being defeated either by Goku or Vegeta. I would like it myself very much if Jaco/Whis to be one to somehow postpone the threat, because Freeza seems to have huge chances to surpass not only Goku, God Vegeta(I really hope Toriyama will keep his promise and makes this time Vegeta a God at least) and Beerus, but Whis too(Given that the narration tells us about a Battle surpassing Gods). In that case Whis will have to use his knowledge and special abilities to seal Freeza in a different universe, or better, a special space between two universes. Or Jaco would use his technological background to open a gate to seal Freeza. It was stated that Jaco knows about time-traveling, maybe he should know about other universes as well, and the means to approach them.

I think it's Goku from the left and Freeza from the right; especially as they're the next characters we see after the 2 auras clash.

Trailers can be misleading especially if they want to keep something a secret.

In the new pics we see Goku defeated on earth which I think was the outcome of the battle we saw while the battle in the pic that we're talking about obviously isn't on earth or at least not the same place that Goku's defeated in.

I think it's Vegeta (probably regular Vegeta) because of the blue aura. He's usually portrayed with a purple or blue outline in his aura, as opposed to Goku's white.

The impact the two auras create turns the surrounding area white and who do we see immediately after? that would be Goku and Freeza forearm to forearm in a white background, as though they've approached from the a great distance. I wouldn't mind if it was Vegeta in said scene but it seems like it's all part of the same fight; hopefully Vegeta does have a decent fight in the film.
