Official On-Going DBZ 2015 Movie Thread: "Resurrection 'F'"

I'm not doubting that. He went to go see King Vegeta and was thrown a feast. I'm fairly certain Beerus could have met Freeza in a similar manner. But the specific scenario you came up with to set up Freeza as a candidate for the next Hakaishin changes too many things, specifically a LOT of recent things we just learned about last film. It would feel like really bad storytelling to retcon that much material (all from like the first 10 minutes of the movie) this quickly.

BOG has Beerus going to sleep because the Yogengyo foresaw a challenger for Beerus. It wasn't until he went to sleep that he had the dream about Super Saiyan God, so it shouldn't be a factor in anything before he wakes up during the film, where Freeza was already dead.

After waking up, Beerus contemplates killing Freeza. Doesn't really paint a picture that Freeza would be someone he'd be willing to bestow his powers to, even for the job.

I agree completely. This theory changes far too much and adds very little.

That was added by the dub, wasn't it? Regardless, we know that Beerus knew of Freeza--he was one of the most influential people alive--but that doesn't indicate that he personally met him. I'd even say that the impersonal way Beerus spoke of him implies that he hasn't.

Wanted to see the difficulty level on "make a fake Fukkatsu no F screenshot". Turns out it depends on what exactly you're trying to do.
My goal was to try to de-Yamamuro-ize Vegeta's facial proportions and up the variation on the line thickness.
Here's what I came up with:

It only made me miss line-thickness variation even more. T_T
Line-thickness variation is still possible with tablets; it just takes more time and I guess the time just isn't there when it comes to the movie.

Could Goku's new gi signify that he's been up to some new kind of training? He always gets a new insignia on his gi after training with a new master, and after training with Kami his outfit was changed entirely to accommodate the weighted clothes. Maybe the new gi signifies, uh... god training.

That's currently what most of us suspect; Goku and Vegeta training with Whis.

Why not Beerus? Personally I think that's more likely, Whis was polite but his actual interest in Earth and it's inhabitants started and ended with the food. Beerus was actually interested in Goku and Vegeta's potential and wanted to make them his arch rivals. As of BoG's ending, Whis would have no motive to train either of them.

The are two reasons for Whis to be the Martial Arts Master for Goku and Vegeta. The first is mentioned, Beerus sleeps very often. And Whis doesn't even sleep, I'm certain Goku asked Whis to train them, because he very well knows that Whis is the best in the Universe, and also the master of Beerus himself.

Thickening the lines does make it not mesh with the thin lines of the background; I do realize this, just didn't have the time to construct a new background too. My main aim was to see if I could make the face look a little less Yamamuro-y. I'm not totally satisfied with what I did with the nose, but I like how the eyes came out.

I think the movie's poster's done a good job indirectly hyping the Jump Festa panel. I know I've got way more questions about this movie's plot at this stage than I did for BOG. I hope some of them get answered. I think the absence of Trunks and Goten is the biggest of mine.

Yeah, the absence of Trunks and Goten really excites me too. I'm hoping a reveal of the origins of the new outfits for Goku and Vegeta, and about the signature. And a confirmation for Whis to be Goku's and Vegeta's master in this movie, and when did they travel to Beerus' Residence. More about Sorbet and Tagoma. And possibly why did Krillin shaved his head again.

I still hope some light will be shed on Freeza's and King Cold's race/species. Given that the two of them are mutants, I'd expect the others would look considerably different, perhaps smaller even than Freeza. The Freeza's race character designs in DBH and Xenoverse would make me doubt it, but I don't think Toriyama-sensei would be restricted by that at all.

It's more than likely fake, as I believe. But I do not want Freeza to humiliate Vegeta once again just like he did in Namek saga, Vegeta should now have the turn to do it for Freeza. Did you noticed that in none of news Vegeta isn't damaged a bit, I really hope that might mean something.

The movies are odd for the cast.

Doesn't Oolong have more appearances than Yamcha? and even had a bigger part in Battle of Gods.

Out of the original DBZ movies (The crappy ones) Vegeta only appeared in 5... (and did the same thing in every one.)

Roshi showed up a few more times didn't he? as part of the "Oh the gang is all together for a party/camping trip/space trip.
