That's one of the most overused pieces of stock artwork for Goten. It's a callback to the scene in which he and Gohan are training for the Tenkaichi Tournament. He's usually pictured holding a rock. They just altered it real quick and gave him a Dragon Ball. I doubt it means anything for the film.

And by the way, Goten's held a Dragon Ball a few times in the movies.

That's just old production art from the 90's. The original image has Goten holding a cube...

I'd certainly be okay with something Kinto'un-related. The only love I recall it getting after the Saiyajin Arc was when it was used by Son Gohan and Son Goten in the Majin Bū Arc, and in the Kanzenban manga ending.

I've never seen 新謹 together before, but I believe the whole thing reads more or less as "We wish you a happy new year".
