Nu Metal was popular during the early - mid 2000's, so I can see why Funimation added it back in the day. DBZ movies feel better when they have the Japanese music in my opinion.

I didn't catch the Toonami airing, but I'm very, very, very glad to see that we're making this kind of progress with the original music!

There's a real charm to the middle school metal they got on those original English releases lol.

Honestly the Japanese audio was fine. But I would have preferred the American audio with the English dub. It made a lot of the scenes have a badass feel to them for me. I still enjoyed watching it last night though. :)

The only movie I really care about the dub score for is Cooler's Revenge. Other than that, I just watch the dub with the dub music so that the difference is greater when I watch the japanese version.(but I do like the Mark Menza music for the movies too).

Was honestly hoping they'd keep the dub score

Royalties and Toonami's budget stop that from happening. It wasn't an issue with Nicktoons because Nickelodian as a whole can afford it.

Isn't it a good thing if they move away from using dub scores on TV? I don't see why anyone would want it there. It's still there on the Double Feature and Movie Pack, so it won't go away. :|

Here's the biggest reason why the dub soundtrack didn't air:

Oh, nice find. I guess this proves they just want to use the original score. They would probably do this for the Movies without Insert Songs, too.

If they add the metal music then everyone would bitch about the Japanese music not being used  . Some people need to remove their nostalgia glasses and get over it.

Same reason why people want the japanese score

"Because that's what was originally composed for the film based on the director's intentions" doesn't apply to the dub score, though. It can't be the same reason.

Wonder if Battle of Gods will ever make it on Toonami. It'll probably help with ratings and is still stuck in fans mind.

This is a perfect example of a nothing nonsense post that does not even need to be made. It brings zero to the table, acts simply to be inflammatory, and is tangential at best to the actual conversation taking place.

Was I talking about your reason?
No, I'm talking about those who just prefer japanese score over English score with no specific reason, they just do

Well, everyone's entitled to their own opinion of course. The fact remains, any uncut airings from this point on can be expected to air with the original score. Nothing is really lost if the US score doesn't air with it. It won't go away.

I wasn't trying to offend. I was just legitimately confused about your point.

You mentioned that dub fans liked their music for the "same reason" without mentioning what that reason was. How was I to know that you meant "there's no specific reason; they just happen to like it better" when you said that? It was my way of asking you to elaborate and you did. Thanks. I understand your original post now.

I think Battle of Gods would likely be played next December. The movie just came out in the US, so it will be a while. DBZ Movie 8 and Akira are the only movies that I watched this December for movie month. My idea for a line up for Movie December 2015:

December 5th - Cowboy Bebop The Movie and Summer Wars

December 12th - Mazinkaizer SKL and Bleach: Fade to Black

December 19th - Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods (Director's cut) and One Piece Film: Strong World

December 26th - Bayonetta: Bloody Fate and Akira

So I take it the movie didn't have anything taken out? And kinda thought the FMA movie would've been a better fit to be after the Broly movie.
