Piccolo never does anything regarding the moon that Roshi didn't do first. Don't really know why you always bring up Piccolo when Roshi did the same first. Anyway, its doubtful that Toriyama intended for the busting of moon to be as impressive as it would have been in the real world in terms of power, given the fact that fighters stronger that Roshi seem to cap at city busting or island busting (Piccolo Daimao and Piccolo Jr). Because Piccolo did it effortlessly with one attack, while Roshi had to transform and use a special technique. There's nothing inconsistent about it. Roshi can't use the moon busting Kamehameha because his buff form is impractical in combat. Piccolo, on the other hand, could casually fire off a planet busting attack to overkill the moon when he needed to stop Gohan. And that's not merely an outlier, it's vital to the plot.

So? They could have just had no ships to escape, so five minutes of warning wouldn't help them. Or, Freeza could have made it detonate quicker. I'm not saying he didn't destroy the planet 'conventionally', I'm just saying that we don't know if he did, so from a pure, on-panel, nitpick point of view, it wasn't as impressive as Piccolo with a battle power of 408 casually firing off an Earth-busting attack with one arm to overkill the moon.

If we're allowed to consider things outside the manga, then we see Pure Buu destroying stars. So that stuff about Freeza's planet-busting being the most impressive destructive feat would still be wrong. Not that it is the most impressive destructive feat even in the manga, what with Pure Buu's small star level ki blast on Earth...

We're talking about Death Battle so you have to play by their rules. And they just take things like this at face value. If it's an explosion then it's an explosion, measure it and find out the force, etc.

This ‘many times’ is not necessarily the Kaiōken multiplier—particularly because he said ‘many times greater’ in this instance at a time when he was only using Kaiōken x2. 2 is not ‘many times’.

I'll say it again. Fan Calcs are taken with a grain of salt. I highly doubt Toriyama or the animation team tried to accurately portray anything more than "Planet go BOOOM!". No one thought "Hm...how to make this look like a star or solar system bust....hmmm."

Just taking it at face value would make them even stronger since Cell said he was capable of busting the solar system. Now imagine Buu.

Really...? I really doubt that you actually believe what you are saying, honestly... Its obvious that Goku is talking about Kaioken in general in that sentence. How much it will multiply depends on the intensity of the technique (x2, x3, x4, and so on). If he said that Kaioken multiplied it by two, it would give off the impression that it can't multiply it by more than two, which is obviously not true. And if you read it in context with the other quotes I put and the rest of the manga, it becomes pretty clear.

I just have a hard time believing that power levels would be a 1:1 with how much destruction you can cause. With Saiyan-arc Vegeta being capable of destroying a planet, if you scaled that, it would make Boo capable of blowing up the universe in one shot or something.

Why...? Even going by real world logic, the Sun has 330.000 times the mass of Earth. If a BP of 18.000 is required to destroy Earth, a BP of 5.940.000.000 is required to destroy the Sun going by real world logic. And the Sun is just an average size star.

By the way things are going, I don't know how they didn't make Vegeta lose agaisnt Shadow. Seems like another video to make some DBZ fans mad.
