"Dragon Ball XENOVERSE" Official Discussion Thread
Re: "Dragon Ball XENOVERSE" (PS4/XB1/PS3/360/PC) Official Th
So I just noticed today Systems Requirement Lab has updated with Dragon Ball Xenoverse so anyone who was wondering if their computer meets the requirements can check with that.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

I honestly think how the transformations work is better for the game overall. I mean the gameplay of Xenoverse is pretty damn fast paced and is even more insanely faster paced in the team battles. Remember in Xenoverse you can interrupt and stop transformations and even power-ups like the Kaioken in mid sequence, you won't have that critical 5 second breather of time to transform like in previous games. And besides, most people who pick characters like Cell, Freeza and Boo, just transform straight to their strongest form, so just save them the time and give them the strongest form from the get go so they don't have to keep cycling though forms constantly and disrupting the flow of the battle.IGhostUlt wrote:Am I the only one that is pissed about how the transformations work in this game?

None of those are actual benefits, or even tangibly related to how the transformations work in this case.Lord Beerus wrote:I honestly think how the transformations work is better for the game overall. You could still be allowed to interrupt transformations if they weren't so shitty that they wore off easily.
You could still start as Cell/Freeza's final forms if they weren't separate characters, as seen in many many Dragon Ball games.
There are no actual advantages this model offers. Only restrictions on how freely transformations can be used, how many can be equipped, whether they can be used at all, etc.

It gets worse when combined with the fact that we aren't even allowed the freedom to customize the original cast members, so they have specific attack, items and transformations suck to specific costumes...
Re: "Dragon Ball XENOVERSE" (PS4/XB1/PS3/360/PC) Official Th
This is bothering me as well and It's actually not the first game to do this as the Storm games have always done that and Brave Soldiers did as well. Problem here tho is that characters like Goku have such an incredible ammount of costumes due to their Gi that having no option to costumize makes no sense. I mean I get, they kinda want costumes to have a meaning but all it does is make me miss the Capsule System.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:It gets worse when combined with the fact that we aren't even allowed the freedom to customize the original cast members, so they have specific attack, items and transformations suck to specific costumes...

Yeah, but I can't even remember the last game that actually limited you to specific transformations for certain costumes in DB though. I mean, stuff like the Tenkaichi games limited you to certain transformations based on time period for characters like Goku (Early/Mid/Late), but you could still use Super Saiyan with the orange dogi or Super Saiyan 3 with the blue one using Late Goku as an example. Here, we're probably going to literally have 3 versions of the same orange dogi from the Buu Arc, one with SS, one with SS2, and one with SS3, instead of just letting us choose which one to equip.

Yeah I did not think about that, so basically Goku/Vegeta are getting 10+ costumes just so they can have all of its transformations in every single costume or worse they'll won't let us transform with specific costumes. Damn this game is plagued by dumb decisions.

It certainly does make it seem that the 14 costumes that were revealed for Goku earlier aren't going to be as diverse as first thought.

Anyone know around what time we'll see the Xenoverse game guide popup for preorder?

Which, again, seems to only get sadder when we know the game has clothing options like Goku's GT dogi programmed in for the custom characters to use...but Goku probably can't.Saiga wrote:It certainly does make it seem that the 14 costumes that were revealed for Goku earlier aren't going to be as diverse as first thought.

I wasn't super worried about not meeting the requirements, but happy to see I should have zero problem running everything at max. Nice! My video card and processor are just short of the recommended requirements, but I met the minimum just fine. I'm happy with that.Haseowolf wrote:I wasn't super worried about not meeting the requirements, but happy to see I should have zero problem running everything at max. Wonder if anyone picked up that the new Gameplay with "Ultimate Gohan" is actually just regular Gohan in the Goku Gi. He hasn't transformed yet.

Just watched the trailer. That part with Frieza quite clearly sounded like Chris Ayres.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

But who was Cell? Doesn't sound like Willingham... and that couldn't be Clarke... could it? It was so off.

Probably Clarke. Perfect Cell sounded a little "off" in his first few episode on Kai, too.DarkPrince_92 wrote:So happy about that.jjgp1112 wrote:Just watched the trailer. That part with Freeza quite clearly sounded like Chris Ayres.

This clearly wan't the best decision they could've made in regards to customization and transformations, but I think they placed such a focus on creating your own character, that they intentionally limited what you could do with the regular characters. The game is clearly about your hero and influence on the story; that's what they want us to focus on. Not saying it was a good decision to make, but I kinda understand why they did it.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:Yeah, but I can't even remember the last game that actually limited you to specific transformations for certain costumes in DB though. As for transformations, although I'm not entirely happy with the choice they made with it wearing off so quickly, it seems like they gave specific advantages for those transformations and therefore needed it to be limited. For example, because you can spam supers in SS form, they don't want it to last forever. They could have gone in a different direction with that, but I think we'll get used to it.
I really don't have too many complaints; in spite of some of the things we would like to see done differently so far, you can see the effort they put into this title. Xenoverse is already exceeding my initial expectations by far; it had been years since I had been interested in a DBZ game.
I'm not saying we can't have our opinions or critique, those will eventually push the developers to keep improving, but let's reserve judgement until we have the final product in our possession.
On another note, as the game get closer to release, we should put our in game names and the system we're playing on in our signatures. I would love to link up with some folks in the Kanzenshuu community.
