The International Version of the Buu-Kai Arc
Re: The International Version of the Buu-Kai Arc
I know we got audio but did anyone ever post the OP & ED along with the visuals?
Well, if not, here's a video I cut together showcasing them both - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5YgY6cX8BY

Credit goes to ShinGaijin for this youtube video of Vegeta's sacrifice in the french dub of DBZ Kai:

To compare, here's the japanese version:

Honestly, I actually prefer the french dub when it comes to the screaming! The acting's more or less on par, I'd say.

I absolutely love French Vegeta. I'd heard praise about his screams before but this was especially nice. Not quite as gravelly as Horikawa but still great.
I still think French Kuririn is one of the best western dub voices for the character.

He got better and better at screaming. He was only okay during the Saiyajin saga. But I really think he nails down the character SO well, and he's got a certain resemblance with Brian Drummond.AjayLikesGaming wrote:I absolutely love French Vegeta. Re: The International Version of the Buu-Kai Arc
It really is a pity that Eric Legrand, the French voice of Vegeta (and Yamcha,* actually) didn't get to scream that much in the French dub of DBZ. His screams are actually pretty good!
*So, between that and Seiya, I guess that means he has dubbed two Tohru Furuya roles.

Wow, that was a pleasant surprise! I'd almost forgotten the great dub aspect still technically keeping this arc from being an utter wreck.

It's awesome that at least France and English speaking countries are getting great dubs out of Kai.

This is slightly off topic, but this clip also shows how good Vegeta's in french (except the screaming's a bit forced here, I think it could've been handled a bit better). It shows his awesome laughter, though:

Especially considering that those two dubs were two of the most criticized dubs of DBZ.Metalwario64 wrote:It's awesome that at least France and English speaking countries are getting great dubs out of Kai.
There does seem to be an interesting "curse" or "blessing" (depending on how one looks at it) going on with Kai, in that countries who received less-than-stellar dubs of DBZ have great dubs of Kai, and countries who received great dubs of DBZ have less-than-stellar dubs of Kai.

I can't wait to hear Sabat do the Atonement scene again.
Re: The International Version of the Buu-Kai Arc
Well FUNimation's release schedule for April came out just the other day, and unfortunately no news of Kai. Which means the earliest we can expect see the "The Final Chapters" is now May, so hopefully we hear something before then.

July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Re: The International Version of the Buu-Kai Arc
Well, FUNimation couldn't just put up Kai 2.0 without making an announcement as it's something of an importance and to go straight to pre-orders without anyone knowing then FUNi would be losing potential customers.Samwize78 wrote:Well FUNimation's release schedule for April came out just the other day, and unfortunately no news of Kai. Paused like this looks horrible. I always overlook this frames and just follow the flow.

A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Re: The International Version of the Buu-Kai Arc
So, what's the stance on this version now? Do the Japanese episodes still correspond to the international? And is the ending theme still the same?

Re: The International Version of the Buu-Kai Arc
Question if and when the final chapters are released in America when we switch the voices over to Japanese is it gonna just be called dragon ball kai or dragon ball kai the final chapters?

Re: The International Version of the Buu-Kai Arc
It will most likely keep The Final Chapters subtitle. It was the same with FUNi's Blu-rays of the first phase of Kai. Even when you change to the Japanese version, the Dragon Ball Z Kai logo was present instead of just Dragon Ball Kai.Naruto6583 wrote:Question if and when the final chapters are released in America when we switch the voices over to Japanese is it gonna just be called dragon ball kai or dragon ball kai the final chapters?
