But in all seriousness. The fight time I played the Network Test, I had zero idea what the controls where. That's where having a master to train you comes in handy. But the same time if you can learn new combos when you level up it will only make remeber the controls even harder.

Personally I picked up the controls in a match or two. Don't know why but I find it easy to adapt to different game genres, that or I have been playing fighting games since I was 3 so yeah. Once you get the core mechanics it becomes easy, actually a lot like Dynasty Warriors looking back on it.
So I think I have a theory on what the delay for Xenoverse in the west was about! They didn't wanna go toe to toe with this release in the same week. Cause Xenoverse in Japan launches a whole week before these two but in the west they would be launching on the same week not only the new 3DS drops but MH4U and Majora's 3D...That's...kinda huge competition. Just a theory though.

Going on hiatus. Too much stuff in RL to deal with for me to keep up with posts here for now. Was fun, hope you all have a nice day and future! Volt signing off.

Spoiler:
Far more likely than the "shipping" theory. If it was a shipping/quantity issue, it wouldn't have affected the Steam release as well. It's probably about the competition and, if not, might have to do with localization and perhaps last minute fixes due to the localization.

I'm not worry about competition since it's a DBZ game. Even with the big hype that it has right now, it's still not the same amount of hype that Budokai 1-3 had back in 2002 - 2004.

Honestly, I'd say it's already reached that level of hype. If not, surpassing it. I've never seen a Dragon Ball game get this much coverage or have this much anticipation since...well... Budokai 3. Some of the most obscure websites are even providing updates and news about the game. I honestly believe, without hyperbole that this is the most anticipated and hyped up Dragon Ball game ever.
If anything, the trailers for the game are just as good as the trailers Budokai 3 had.

lol youre kidding about the budokai 3 trailer yeah. That was absolutely horrible! Why would you have a goku vs goku match in a trailer. And those cuts to still images... Is that what all trailers back then used to look like!

I disagree. This game is looking up to be the best thing to ever happen to DBZ games since Budokai 3. I mean, we're getting the best of both worlds (Budokai series' technical depth and Tenkaichi series' movement).

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

I'm just about done with the concept of reboots and making shows that were products of their time and impactful "new and sexy" and in line with modern tastes and sensibilities. Let stuff stay in their era and give today's kids their own shit to watch.
I always side eye the people who say "Now my kids/today's kids can experience what I did as a child!" Nigga, who gives a fuck about your childhood? You're an adult now and it was at least 15 years ago. Let the kids have their own experience instead of picking at a corpse.

Dragon Ball didn't have great marketing back them. It was the hype generated among Dragon Ball fans on forums that created the immense anticipation towards Budokai 3.

Exactly. The only people who still buy DBZ games are the fans and maybe a few gamers but other than that, the market for DBZ games is very limited.
Don't worry about the other games because the DBZ fanbase knows what they want.

Budokai 3 is still my favorite. If we had gotten that setup with the story telling scenes from Budokai1, it would've been even greater. Flying around the big overworld map and discovering hidden items and objectives was fun. Even doing what-if things like finding Cooler on Namek and fighting him instead of Freeza. B3 was one of the best DBZ games that've come out. Tenkaichi2 is my 2nd favorite. The others felt like they relied too much on gimmicks and additional modes that didn't really add to the experience and just felt needlessly tedious.
Though thinking back, the leveling mode in GT Final Bout was crazy. The game was utter $hite, but the leveling mode was broken as all hell. Like I got Piccolo's basic kick used so much while leveling that one kick was enough to drop 5 Health Bars from lv80 NPC's.

I'm getting paid this week (in job training) so I'll have a chance to pre-order it.

So if I understand this right, those of us outside of Japan can still pre-order after the 17th of February due to the delays, correct? Meaning the game will be out in Japan and we'll get a better idea of what the game is like, and how the different versions compare to each other, without missing out on any pre-order bonuses.
If that's true, my current plan is to wait until Feb 17th, try to gain as much information on the Steam port quality as possible, and then decide whether to place a pre-order on Steam or PS4. Doing so in the 10 days before release should still mean all the pre-order bonuses are available, correct?
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

Pre-order means till the very last Day before actual Release i think. I'd already preorder the PS4 Version now on Amazon just to be safe and since you're able to cancel it whenever you want with a click.
