Part of me is disappointed that Towa is no longer the head boss, but in the other hand we haven't had a "handsome" big bad in Z yet, so if that chin indicates that, I'm looking forward to him.

I don't know...there was just stuff to Towa that never made me see her as the big boss. Not to denote her but she just always felt like one of the cogs in a much bigger machine. But who knows she might also be the backstabbing type to trick Demi in the end!

Yeah, I never really got the feeling that Towa was the mastermind behind everything, even just with DBO. She was just too playful. The game gave us Mira for four missions though, and then Towa for three (and a planned fourth) before getting canceled. Could have been entirely possible that for the Cell and Buu Arc TMQs they could have introduced another villain in each, or that Mira would return and team up with Towa for the Cell Arc before giving us Demigra (or something) for the Buu Arc TMQs.

What's this I hear about the original BoG plot?

Basically, the original script of BOG had Beerus being a lizard that infected people with evil, with the revelation that Beerus also infected the Saiyans with evil and was the one who gave the Saiyan race their characteristic ruthlessness, and the main focus of the story would be about Goku being infected with evil by Beerus and attacking his friends while contemplating on what it meant to truly be a hero. It was essentially a rip-off of The Dark Knight. Toriyama thought that the tone of the script was too bleak and dark and basically re-wrote the entire script and redesigned characters like Beerus, and we ended up with what we got in BOG.

I mean if you thought that was bad, you should hear what the original design for the Super Saiyan God was. Man, thank God Toriyama changed that.

I...I'm sorry but that plot sounds a lot better then what BoG was. I'd actually watch that to death and back. Also I really liked what we've been told about the original SSJG design, it sounds a lot better then what we actually got. To be frank I almost walked out of the theater when SSJG happened. Oh well at least we get to PLAY this kickass sounding story.

To be honest that plot doesn't sound bad. If done right I would like it. With the Battle of Gods that we got, something just seemed...off. I don't know, the concept of a SSJ God as a transformation just sounds fanfic-y. I love Beerus as a character, and I'm happy we did get a new movie, but still.

Honestly, I don't how anyone can like the original script. It's flat out terrible. The plot essentially whitewashes every atrocity the Saiyan's have ever committed by have one person essentially be responsible for turning into genocide space pirate against their will and essentially kick starting the entire plot of Dragon Ball. That sort of shit was done in Naruto, and has been shown that it can't work. But the main plot just reeks of fan fiction. Goku never gave two shits about whether people consider him a hero or not. Even during the multiple time he would put the Earth at risk for a good fight, he never stopped and thought, "Hmm, I wonder if my friends and family will still look up to me as a shining example." Hell, Goku doesn't even fully understand the concept and morality surrounding the complicated differences between good and bad. He just understands the concept of mercy. If they tried to force-feed Goku the ideals of heroism, it will essentially rob Goku of arguably his most lovable and iconic trait: his naivety. And then he no longer becomes Son Goku. He becomes Superman. And God forbid that happens.

It was more of a hybrid of the hair of SSJ3 and SSJ4, with a cape and with a muscle mass increase of great proportions. They basically wanted to turn Goku into Superman. Fuck that.

I see your point there but in all honesty, even with how bad it sounds in that context. It still sounds better then what we got, I left the theater thoroughly disappointed with BoG. Everything in it had good build up but the payoffs were just bad, I think with the original script they could have tweaked things and kept the same concept, but overall it doesn't matter. BoG is what it is now and dwelling on what it could have been won't change anything. Though now we get that tweaked script as a game plot which I'm biting at the bit to play!

I just pre-ordered the game at GameStop though I don't own a PS4 yet... but I will eventually.

Unfortunately, my GameStop doesn't have the demo so I'll just have to hope the game doesn't suck dragon balls.

In all fairness, that (partially) was my first thought upon trying to figure out who that chin was, if it wasn't someone new entirely like Demigra. Not an 'alternate' Vegito, but I was thinking maybe it was a possessed version of him. I mean, they're possessing everyone else at the worst possible times, so...

This game is looking clean. The whole "evil __" thing is very cliche, but at least they look cool. Wish the story was expansive though. Like, we already know they're going to add more GT characters (how awkward would it be to just have SSJ4s and Super 17?). And judging how accurate the stage was in the S17 video, I guess we can assume we'd get a proper Planet Tsufuru, or planet M2.
