I know we've covered all this a while ago, But I just figured I'd add that I just seen that the DLC packs will be $9.99 each. I won't say Yay or Nay on getting them right off the bat...I guess it just depends on how my money situations goes. I know it's a slim chance but I'd like to see Arale make into this game since she's part of the Dragonball universe. could you imagine that? man... :)

Edit - Can anyone confirm for me if Walmart will give me the pre-order bonus if I get it from them? because this site doesn't make it clear.

Gamers who pre-order the game will get Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta as a playable character, along with two Frieza Battlesuits: gold and crystal. The pre-order bonuses apply to digital purchases, as well.

The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

Not just DBZ games, but games in general. Once the 360 and PS3 came about and Online Play started becoming the norm, it led to the explosion and ultimate exploitation of DLC, which has now become a blight on the games industry that seeks to rob us of as much of our income as it possibly can. The PS2 was the golden age. It had online functionality, but was never worth the time or effort to do and none of the games besides a few choice MMO's playable on the PS2 even required it.

My PS2 still works. I still bring it out to play my PS2 games. Especially Budokai 3 when the urge hits
Personally I wouldn't say the PS2 was the golden age. I'd say it was within the golden age but that's cause I remember my times with my Dreamcast. Still have mine! Same for my PS1, PS2, N64 and Gamecube. Heck even some of the original xbox had some pretty neat titles. These days are just...meh. The fact a game can be called bad cause there is no DLC is painful to me. In recent years though more companies have been waking back up to 'lets make games for fun!' it's slow. It's not gonna change over night but things like Xenoverse are a good example of things changing slowly.
Going on hiatus. Too much stuff in RL to deal with for me to keep up with posts here for now. Was fun, hope you all have a nice day and future! Volt signing off.

I feel JRPG's are the way to go for current games, if only because they need to be long and story driven, and can spend some 30-50hrs on them and not get 100% completion. Without DLC. Fighting games don't even really change and neither do FPS'. JRPG's are generally separated between Good and Bad depending on the Story as opposed to the game play. Level grinding will always be a chore in any RPG, but it can be fun by itself so long as there is a goal to it.

PS1 had some of the best JRPG's like "Legend of Dragoon" and the Lunar series, as well as Suidoken and the Persona series. And I enjoyed the Tales of Destiny series for using a RTB system instead of an ATB system. ToD was moving, jumping and hitting with special moves long before Kingdom Hearts tried to pretend they invented it.

Already answered you like 20 pages ago (this thread exploded with the DLC announcement). The codes are in the game boxes. So long as it's from the first wave of shipments, you should get it no matter where you purchase from.

Oh yeha PS1 was great! Sadly JRPGs suffer their own brand of BS these days. Like Japan having exclusive super versions of said JRPGs that make the versions we Americans get look watered down. I'M LOOKING AT YOU TALES OF VESPERIA! Yeah I'm still mad about that! But I still have vivid memories of my Dreamcast, playing Shenmue, Sonic Adventure and many others. Heck funniest memory? My dad and I playing Sega Bass Fishing like it was a father son fishing trip! XD I wish the games industry could go back to those days faster cause the shit right now makes my inner child hurt. Cause I remember the days of Super Mario World on my SNES or Sonic 2 my genesis.

Know what? One of my favorite horror games; Friday the 13th for the NES. You were a kid. These were the best graphics you'd ever seen. And you had Jason effing Voorhees chasing your scrawny ass around the camp grounds with creepy slasher music in the background and a 7ft murderous zombie hunting you down wherever you went. And your starting weapon was a freakin rock. You have that nice little boat rowing, trying to get down the lake from one end of the camp to the other. And then *SWOOSH* Jason comes streaming through the water passed the boat, out of nowhere, and freaks you right the F**k out.

That sounds interesting and I played that game way back when I was younger although it probably wasn't new, point being though that old games had their own magic to them. Anyways does anyone have something to add or more xenoverse oriented discussion though? I want more information, I'm hungry for information.

We're probably not going to see any new reveals or updates until just before release. There really isn't anything more to tell people. We have 5 races, tons of outfit choices, a number of unlockables and DLC content with GT characters. The gameplay is already shown quite a bit and the story outlined fairly well in their Jump Fiesta trailer. There isn't anything else they can share as certain things like Stages and specific characters will be shown on launch day.

Why do you Kanzenshuu posters go off topic and the mods don't say anything about it? Who cares about a JRPG? Burst Limit not getting a sequel? MM3D special editions? Stick to the damn subject at hand. Goddamn.

Cause what is on topic is pretty much dead right now. We've talked about the recent reveals. There isn't anything new. Speculation is just speculation and lets face it that gets boring. So what should we talk about? Nothing? Let the thread go quiet for a bit? I'm not saying your wrong but coming in like that is kinda rude, people are having a good discussion while also trying to be on topic and coming in trying to do the mods jobs won't gain you favor on a forum, though I guess one could argue I'm sorta doing the same.

I didn't realize that so many people hated DLCs. Maybe it's because I'km not much of a gamer anymore; I pretty much just play DCUO. That being an MMO, it's built on DLCs and I've never had any negative experiences with them. When I saw the announcement, the first thing I thought was that they are really putting a lot of work into this game. I see nothing wrong at all with adding content at a later date if it was actually worth it. And if I don't think it's worth it, then I just won't get it.

Battle of Z was a perfect example of a poorly executed DLC, I didn't think the character were worth it, so I just didn't pay money for them, no big deal.

For Xenoverse, I think the DLCs will definitely be worth it. The fact that we are getting more quests and missions is major. And I know this game is going to have a ton of replay value.

I've seen enough from this game to give it my seal of approval. We've already seen that they've improved on certain issues that came up during the network test with the latest game play videos and there seems to be a whole lot of depth to the game in general.

February 27th can't come fast enough for me, I've already scheduled the day off for work. :D

It's not the practice of DLC I hate. It's how it's been abused recently to chop games up to be sold piecemeal instead of adding to an already complete game. Example of adding to a game! Borderlands! Love all the games, Love all the DLC in those games! Why? Cause it's new content! It's not content cut from the game at launch, It ADDS to the game. DLC recently has been used to chop games up and sell the full content to you piecemeal. I think for this thread the best example I can give is a lot of capcom fighters having their DLC characters ON THE DISC! If they're on the disc...WHY NOT HAVE THEM AVAILABLE AT LAUNCH?! That's what I hate when it comes to DLC, Xenoverse doesn't seem to be doing that, it's DLC looks like it will ADD to the game, not complete it.

I can't argue there, that just sounds terrible. But I play so few games now that my DLC experiences all have been pretty good with the exception of Battle of Z. But yea, that locked into the disc content is garbage.

Due to consumer outcry Disc Locked Content is becoming a less common practice. Even Capcom, who was seen as the worst offender of this practice(they actually locked an entire third of Street Fighter X Tekken's on-disc content behind a $20 pay wall.), has stopped doing it.

So Bandai Namco AU sent this around to media websites

As unveiled recently, Mira and Towa managed to get their hands-on tons of Characters from the DRAGON BALL Z Universe and turn them into ‘Villainous’ foes; the list just got longer with Gotenks, Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo, Androids and even the Great Apes! The two foes took their mischiefs even further by making Vegeta join the Ginyu Army… Along with these distortions, Nappa will be able to transform into a Great Ape! Is it possible that Mira & Towa are influenced by an even stronger antagonist…?

This week’s assets also showcase two new characters breaking their way through the already humongous cast (a total of 159 fighters!): Omega Shenron and Gogeta SS4!

159 Fighters!!! When did that happen lol. Clearly a mistake right. Don't tell me they are referring to Tenkaichi 3 lol

Yup, I caved. Here I come DLC...
I'll just re-sell that Steelbook case that I pre-ordered from GameStop on eBay or something and hope that that pays off the DLC.
So, you're saying that everything that comes with the steelbook pre-order will be available for pre-order?

I suppose it is entirely possible that they are counting all the characters and their various costumes as separate fighters since the original DB franchise characters all have moves preset to their outfits to represent each specific era and/or transformation.
