But yeah on topic, I found the overall fight to be hilarious. The expressions, Kirby giving a facepalm to Buu, it was great despite the outcome.

It's actually pretty hard to be a "fan of Superman" since there are so many different versions and interpretations of the character. You could easily like one and hate another.

What happened to the No Outside Assistance rule? Wouldn't that mean no randomly placed kirby mooks, meaning no copy ability? Kirby using his surroundings to achieve copy abilities makes no sense considering this rule. The Goku VS Superman Battle makes no sense still as they used Saiyan Saga Goku to measure Goku's speed, When he can go SSj4.

Don't understand why, honestly. She can not only control rocks, but she can also control sand and metal as well. And she can turn sand into rock. Gaara is at a disadvantage.

Don't understand why, honestly. She can not only control rocks, but she can also control sand and metal as well. And she can turn sand into rock. Gaara is at a disadvantage.

I'm not really not gonna argue with you... I saw all of Naruto so I know all about Gaara, but I haven't seen Avatar and this is the first time I've become aware of her character and powers, and yet, from what I've seen in this small video showing what she can do, I'm perfectly convinced that Gaara is at a disadvantage.

At the very least, she is impressive enough compared to Gaara and his abilities for me to not understand how anyone can be shocked with her winning.

All I gotta say is watch the series, because if you have, you'd see why toph isn't comparable to gaara
Basically, reaction is key, toph doesn't have the necessary feats to suggest she can react to gaara (funny thing is, SA acknowledged it by saying gaara's sand was faster than the speed of sound)
It's just weird you know? Goku vs Superman, understandable, Kirby vs boo, questionable, but Kirby is a video game character

Unless you are saying that what they said in the video regarding her abilities is incorrect and that the clips of avatar that they showed are not indicative of her power and abilities, I don't see how watching the series in full would change anything.

The DB fanbase (Screwattack not youtube) Is pretty much laughing this off as a shitty call. So it ain't just butthurt youtubers, but the screwattack loyaists.

I didn't read any great argument in there, besides Gaara having a clear advantage in range, which is probably true.

His argument of correlating how much sand Gaara can move with the energy it would take to do so realistically, implying that Gaara has that energy in raw form, is especially ridiculous. Gaara moves the sand because his power is to manipulate it freely, not because he has the realistically accurate energy to telekinetically lift the sand. If that was the case, and he had energy like that, he could literally punch people with tons of force by simply using his energy.

Bottom-line is that Gaara is trying to hurt her with sand, something that she masters. If she wants to end the battle as quickly as possible, there's apparently nothing stopping her from turning all of the sand that Gaara has into rock, something that she also masters, but that Gaara can only grind into sand if he has sand to do it. That's why Gaara is at a disadvantage. Of course that, with the right strategy, he could win, but he really is at a disadvantage, imo.

Anyway, if you really want a response point by point to that post, this comment in that website did a good job with that:

1) Reaction time - This really wasn't addressed by DB and really should have been. However, Toph was able to sense a mans movement, and send an attack 30-40ft away, before he could place his foot down. Not sure how fast that is.. but it's fast. Also, DB didn't depict her as being able to avoid all attacks, he did get her with sand burial (which is basically all he ever does to his opponents). So it really is a moot point. His "attacks" are all catching his opponent and are not deadly in and of themselves.

2) Living sand--- it is a fair point to ask if Toph can bend a living sand, and blood bending is a good comparison. However while blood bending is difficult, metal bending was thought to be IMPOSSIBLE. It is a safe assumption that Toph can bend living sand, even if it is a very advanced skill, after all Toph is "the greatest" in her world

3) Tiny control - Dude, she can sense a person a world away! .. that is insanely particular, also she built a detailed model of a city with a foot stomp and she controls metal specifically by identifying the tiny particles in it. So your simply wrong, or have no reason to doubt the point.

4) There really is no reason to think that Gaara doesn't use his sand armor the whole time. So it is not a wrong assumption. ...

4A) Gaara could fly away... Yes.. he could, and retreat isn't something you want to see in a DB. So it's a moot point. I also think this is indicative of your wrong thinking.

5) Surviving sand coffin - To me the whole fight hinged on this, because it is literally the only way Gaara kills people (or at the very least his favorite) I do think that bending +armor = survive Sand coffin..

6) there are of course things that were not depicted, for example there is no reason that Toph couldn't have sank into the ground, and fought Garaa from out of his sight. She could have dodged his tsunami in this way as well. Also, she could have sank him the moment the fight started. Lastly the most ridiculous thing shown was Gaara jumping to avoid an attack. He never does that. he doesn't move, even if a sword is headed for his brain.. he will stair it down and let the sand defend him, and if the attack is powerful enough it would just kill him. In the end, Toph is the much more varied fighter, she has more powerful control over the elements, and is tough enough to survive. Also.. his weapon is literally her specialty (earth). There is no doubt that she could out last his chakara, because she has no such limit. The moment the fight starts there is an absolute timer to Gaara's defeat(Ie chakar limit), where no such timer exists for Toph.

------Final note--- A good post, you had reasons which were superior to the usual "he can fly" and "she is blind" that we read everywhere else. I respectfully disagree for the above reasons. Good day and God bless.

The creators themselves keep telling people to stop taking the show so seriously, especially after the "Goku vs. Superman" match.

One of the rules of Death Battle is that all character traits, tactics, and attributes aren't removed. So why didn't Gaara have his Shukaku? Or the large energy reserves that come with it?
