RZA of Wu - Tang talks Dragon Ball Z.
If there's already a related thread my bad . RZA from The Wu - Tang Clan wrote a book called The Tao of Wu. I haven't read the book myself but I stumbled acrossed this pretty cool article about how he mentions Dragon Ball z in the book. What do you guys think of RZA's interpretation of DBZ.

It'd be in Rza's best interest to be taking acting lessons (because he's a terrible actor) than giving interviews for stuff that doesn't benefit his acting career in any way whatsoever plus he's almost as bad as Jaden Smith (even if his life depended on it he'd fail).
By the way, I'm not hating on the guy it's just sad to see he's not doing a good job for the movies he stars in but Jaden? That's a lost cause.

Good to know one of the greatest rapper acknowledges the greatness that is Dragon-ball, and has a rather funny but informative view point regarding the similarities of DBZ and real world events. A third Afro Samurai movie would be fine do.

This right here has nothing to do with thread. RZA does a excellent job in bringing the Chinese and Japanese Martial Arts culture to the black community and for that I congratulate his work and effort.dbboxkaifan wrote:It'd be in Rza's best interest to be taking acting lessons (because he's a terrible actor) than giving interviews for stuff that doesn't benefit his acting career in any way whatsoever plus he's almost as bad as Jaden Smith (even if his life depended on it he'd fail).

RZA is simply recognizing the similarities between Goku's hero thread and his own, but the same thread runs through almost every hero story, from those of the Greek Gods and heroes, to Jesus, to Luke Skywalker. For anyone interested in this sort of thing, you may want to read some of Jospeh Campbell's work, such as The Hero With A Thousand Faces, which, by the way, has been mentioned as an influence for many modern day pop mythologies such as Star Wars and The Matrix.

What does this have to do with anything...?dbboxkaifan wrote:It'd be in Rza's best interest to be taking acting lessons (because he's a terrible actor) than giving interviews for stuff that doesn't benefit his acting career in any way whatsoever plus he's almost as bad as Jaden Smith (even if his life depended on it he'd fail).

Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Hip Hop artists already claimed Bruce Lee and Martial Arts films... keep away from Dragon Ball RZA!

Why should hip hop artists stay away from dragon ball?LordCrumb wrote:Hip Hop artists already claimed Bruce Lee and Martial Arts films... keep away from Dragon Ball RZA!

I agree with a lot of his points.
That's one of the reasons Goku is such a popular character: he's relatable on so many different levels. Everybody from a young person discovering the world for the first time to black people in America. There's something for everybody.
You know what they say: you know it's popular when brothas in the hood walk around proudly displaying a DBZ shirt.

This is awesome.

Gohan deserves it.
