My God, Conan, you actually sound
afraid of another PS2 game.
I'm not sure I understand, though. I get your concerns about overkill, but . . . if you're
not going to pick up a PS3, while at the same time
are hoping we've seen the last PS2 incarnation, are you saying that you never want to play another Dragonball game ever again?
Such an . . . odd thing to hope for. But perhaps I misunderstand you.

Who says that every game has to be about pulling a hundred million characters out of your ass? Developers can't necessarily give us anything new with regards to who we play with, but they can always explore and fine-tune the ways we play with them. Super DBZ proved that.

I am very seriously glad we're seeing a Wii release, but something in the back of my mind tells me it could be the only one. I think, more than anything, it's promotional. There's no graphical improvement over the PS2 version whatsoever and no additional content; it's the same game with Wiimote controls. They're simply using the draw of the DBZ name to get more people involved in trying out the controller.
Once that little experiment is over and everyone is more-or-less aware of what the Wiimote can do, I question the presence of DBZ on the Wii. Somehow I can't see the PS3 and Wii sharing in very many "across the board" releases like the consoles of today; they're just too different.

Unless Atari goes belly-up. DBZ is their biggest seller, but it's probably not enough to spare the company if things get worse for them financially. Let's hope they have a better fiscal year than last.

I agree that it will be a PS3 game. I
don't agree that we won't see a PS2 version of at least the first PS3 title. C'mon, EX! Even if it's graphically inferior, with by every conceivable measure it will be, a second version can reach out to the market of cheap bastards that the PS3 launch will fail to catch . . . and given the price and the amount of available consoles, I think that's going to be a lot of people (and money) to ignore in
not porting the game to PS2.
Beyond the first title, I suppose I don't see any other PS2 games. It''s not realistic. But I can see just the one for sure. But only time will tell, huh?
