"Dragon Ball XENOVERSE" Official Discussion Thread

The wait for this game is eating me alive! I honestly haven't been this excited for a game since 2011, when I got a PS3 for Sonic Generations. I must say, I have a bad habit of buying consoles solely for one game, between Generations for PS3 and Xenoverse for PS4. Of course, more games will come out. I'm also going to try and find another cheaper game to get along with it. I think that Infamous game is only $35 preowned, I may give it a shot.

Anyway, from the little I've let myself watch, here are the only negatives:
-The timer is ungodly intrusive in VS. It shouldn't be hard to fix in an update, so hopefully they fix it.
-Final Form and 100% Freeza are separate characters. Making 100% a transformation for Final Form would have been a better option IMO because it would further justify the transformation system. Heck, making 100% an F Clansmen transformation would be a massive improvement.
-/+Why just SSJ4 Gogeta? I was disappointed when UT did it, I'm still disappointed now. Of course, now I get to make Base Gogeta as a CaC, so I'll also give this a +. (Plus this is really nitpicking anyway.)

S'all good to me. The char design is just adorable.

I think a slight grievance for me, during the game, is when fighting Freeza Soldiers and Appule clones, they have way too much health for guys at their station. I won't speak as to the series of events, only that it takes a considerable amount of time to kill these guys when, realistically, you should be killing them in 1-2 hits. I mean in the series, Vegeta dropped in after dumping Goku, went to Freeza's ship, and slaughtered the entire crew of Freeza's ship in a few seconds. For me it's just a break of immersion. I can get that they want to make the game tough, but spending 20-odd minutes killing fodder just isn't that fun.

It's a minor grievance to be sure. But one thing I am seeing through all the videos is that there are quite a lot of "minor grievances" to be had with Xenoverse that it could become an irksome problem.

It's simply because you start out low level. You aren't meant to just blast through the story mode. Do a story mission, then do some training and Parallel Quests to level up, then the next story mission. If you want it to feel accurate go play through the story at level 80 where you nearly one shot everything up to Namek

Yes it seems anyone can equip the sword as an item pretty much but I haven't played the game personally. I saw hyperbolic time chamber Vegeta outfit trunks even with a sword latched around. Also moves depend on who you pick as yours "mentor".

Not sure about that maybe I just know if an attack requires a sword you use it

If by use a sword you mean like how Trunks does for some of his attacks, then no. There are two supers involving a sword. One being a counter, and the other being Trunk's Burning Slice. For both you just materialize a sword for the move and it vanishes after the move is done.

Yes you can choose either Trunk's Sword or the Z Sword but neither are actually used with the sword supers.
