I really hope Freeza beats both Vegeta and Goku, forcing the other characters to use the dragon balls to wish for someone who can stop him, resulting in the resurrection of Broly. After losing to him, Freeza, in a plot twist, can reveal that he's actually Cell, who acquired the ability to shapeshift by releasing his cells in hell and assimilating them with other fallen villains. Broly, in disbelief over how overpowered he now is, can transform into a SSJ demi-God. It's like SSJG with black aura, but it's only accessible to Broly because he is really evil. This would be amazing.

This idea is so fucking stupid! If Toriyama wrote this exact idea though, it's fucking genius!.

Both Battle of Gods and this movie (or what we know of it so far) got mixed reception by the fans. I see really no need for these types of comments when this movie is already getting criticized as heavily as it is here, the biggest DB fansite there is. And being one of the people who's criticizing it as well, I don't see what these typesof posts contribute to the discussion when anything that Toriyama has done recently in regards to Dragon Ball has either gotten mixed reception (BoG, FnF) or bad (DB Minus).

It was a world wide success. Sales show Battle of Gods was very successful and positive. Forums do not dictate the overall impressions. Battle of Gods wasn't mixed, it did very well. I'd need to see movie review scores to see how critics rated it. I don't remember mixed views from critics.

Point is he's on a pedestal that people line up to protect. If anyone honestly thinks Toriyama is someone who thought all of this through, they're sorely mistaken. Most rationalizations basically come to interpretations to try and cover for errors. Some though I would agree are alright cases, but even then it's mostly just covering bases for people who aren't even trying. There's already much better ways to get their story out, but instead they take the questionable routes. I can't see any single person here looking at what we know so far, and thinking it sounds awesome if it were done strictly from a fan.

So it does appear that the image of Whis fighting Vegeta and Goku is indeed legitimate. Which probably implies what most already speculated, that Vegeta gained Godly Ki off-screen and both are training with Whis and Beerus.

May be nothing, but a screenshot from the new 3DS game looks as though Vegeta's sprite has the hair color of a God?

This movie was only a sucess for those who really don't care for the series or just started watching in the past 5 years. All that story about Destruction Gods that are way beyond Goku's power, inconsistency with characters age, excessive overpower, short and lame fight scenes and other several reasons.

I really hope all those movies that pass before EoZ don't screw the EoZ itself, just for you guys to be thinking... In BOG Goku met an opponent way beyond Majin Boo's power level and now that he obtained godly powers why he would be so excited in Uub, the reincarnation of Majin Boo? Doesn't make any sense.

That's just a reason that I think BOG should be filler

What would a critic's opinion prove? You're looking for box office figures, which are obviously not going to be as high as a big-name hollywood blockbuster. Battle of Gods did very well, meeting and exceeding expectations.

Saying this movie looks epic is an understatement.

In terms of Vegeta getting the form off screen which looks to be the case or he wouldn't be training with them I have to say as a huge Vegeta fan I don't have a problem with it cause we can jump right into the main events but that's just what we think so it could still happen at the beginning of the movie.

In terms of Beerus either he's mad that they woke him up with their training or he sensed Freeza and is mad that they weren't paying attention to that which could cost him his pudding.
